Finding My Passion
tastesofgreece.us

I have been told through my major picking process to pick the ones that will bring the most money. I however have picked the one which is bringing me joy. I learned from a very young age that money does not bring happiness. I will still eat even if it is not a steak dinner every night. I will still sleep even if it is in a twin bed and not a king and I will find true love without money. For I have learned that money brings problems, and with problems brings stress. Therefore for my major I have picked joy and passion. Passion is needed to succeed in all aspects within your life. Not only your career but becoming a well rounded adult who does not only work for the weekends but works for enjoyment. If I could never pick up another apron, another visor, or another name tag I would. However, no matter how many jobs I have, no matter if I take time off, or go off to school for the year I always find myself writing. I describe passion as not doing something because it has to be done but doing something for the love of it. No matter if I am starving, broke, traveling the streets of a foreign country I am always going to write. That is who I am as a person. Knowing that about myself is something I feel as if a lot of people do not understand or have themselves yet. I know for a fact that even if it was only for me to see I would need to write. I know that there is not a lot of money within this work I hope to fill my career with. However, no matter where the money goes I did not factor it into my career path. Being a journalist to me is about more than money, actually speaking up for what is believed and giving voices to those people who are being crushed by a massive majority. There is a lot of factors that goes into following your passion. I am one of the lucky ones, the ones who are able to pick what they want and hopefully run with it. Finding a passion allows you to keep a drive within you that you might lose if you become uninterested. I strongly encourage everyone to find a passion that they can turn into a career and if not then simply a get away from their stressful lives.

18 Things I Want To Do Now That I'm 18

I'm technically an adult, so I'm legally required to live a little, right?

For the entirety of my high school career, I was always seen as the goody-two-shoes. I never got in trouble with a teacher, I kept stellar grades, and when I wasn't doing extracurricular activities, I was at home studying. Even when I did go out, it was usually with a bunch of fellow band geeks. The night would end before 11:00 PM and the only controversial activity would be a fight based on who unfairly won a round of Apples-to-Apples when someone else clearly had a better card (I promise I'm not still holding a grudge).

Now that I'm officially an adult, I want to pursue some new things. I want to experience life in a way that I never allowed myself to do prior to entering college. These are the years that I'm supposed to embark on a journey of self-discovery, so what better way to do that than to create a bucket list?
