Here's How To Win Basket Week

Everyone's favorite week of the year is near: BASKET WEEK!

Let's be honest, it's like Christmas morning all over again. You're being showered with presents, food, and so much more. Day after day there is something new and exciting waiting for you by someone who loves you more than you know.

I know it seems crazy, how could someone love me this much already? Many hours of crafting, baking, and prep go into these baskets. I honestly didn't know how much work went into them until I made them for my own little.

I'll be the first to say that I am not crafty, I have no comprehension of the color wheel, and glitter is not my thing. However, for you Little I made it work and I learned to love it all! Yes, there were days when I wanted to just scrap all of it and start over, but in the end they turned out great.

Bigs: Don't be afraid if you are having anxiety about your baskets because your littles are going to love them no matter what. Just go for it!

Stressed and need some help? Go to Pinterest. Pinterest is your best friend and go-to for all things basket week. If you're drawing a blank or just need some inspiration, you'll find more than you need on Pinterest. From crafts to cake designs, Pinterest is your life line.

Also remember not to kill yourself over your baskets. Remember all the crap you got in your baskets that you hung up in your dorm room that now sits in a box under your bed? PASS IT DOWN!

You haven't looked at any of those canvas, headbands, notebooks for a whole year. Why let it sit under your bed collecting dust, just hand it down. I know you may not think a hundred stickers with your letters on it are that exciting, but your littles will.

**Tip** If you feel like your basket doesn't look full enough, load it up with food! By now you should know what your little likes to snack on. Food goes a long way, and she will be so happy that her dorm room is stacked with food for the next month and half.

Leading up to reveal your little will post pictures with her baskets saying how much she loves them and you! I can honestly say there was no better feeling, and seeing her posts made me feel at ease about reveal.

I had no doubt in my mind that she wouldn't be running into my arms at reveal once she received all of her baskets. But I will admit I was nervous at first because I had only known her for about 4 days before I had to put together all of her baskets.

Things happen for a reason, and I got myself and wonderful little!

Bigs, good luck with your baskets and finding your littles. Just remember to have fun and flood your baskets with love.

Littles, enjoy basket week while you can because before you know it, you will be the one making the baskets. And remember to give your big a shout out because she has been working so hard.

Happy Little Hunting!

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Bonus points if it is more than two.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

As an English Major in college, I have a lot of writing and especially creative writing pieces that I work on throughout the semester and sometimes, I'll find it hard to get the motivation to type a few pages and the thought process that goes behind it. These are eleven thoughts that I have as a writer while writing my stories.

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
