New York City is known for so many things, and especially for it's wide variety of crazy and unique sweets. With so many options being thrown your way on all social media platforms, but especially Instagram, it's hard to pick which ones you should go to.
So for the next 3 weeks, I will try to make it to as many ice cream shops in as I can in the city and review them on experience, price, and favor.
The first shop on my Ice Cream journey isIce & Vice located at 221 East Broadway on the Lower East Side.
Ice & Vice describes itself as "an experimental ice cream shop based in New York City. Handcrafting our ice cream, sorbet and frozen yogurt in small, customized batches, we push the boundaries of what frozen desserts can be."
When you walk into the little shop, you will see their menu has what favors they currently have, for sandwiches, ice cream, and cone flavors. But if you don't act fast what you want could disappear since they really do make it in small batches. For example, the person in front of me got the last cookie sandwich and I was devastated.
With all the experimental flavors they have, like Tico Time which is Pink Guava, Chili Lime Plantain Chip, it may be intimidating to choose what flavor you want. But fear not, they let you try all the flavors you want before you commit to any crazy flavor.
I got 2 scoops, the bottom flavor is Milk Money (Toasted Milk, Sea Salt, Chocolate Ganache) and the top flavor is Happy Panda (Forbidden Black Rice Sorbet) in a dark chocolate chai cone and the final cost came out to be: $8.50.
So how would I rate this Ice Cream:
Experience: 4/5 The shop was a little tight, and they did not have the ice cream sandwich that I wanted.
Price: 2/5 It was very pricy for these 2 scoops, and if you want the sandwich with your cone, it will be a little more. This is not the place if you're trying to get NYC ice cream on the cheap.
Flavor: 5/5 I'm all for the experimental flavors, and with the opportunity to try before you buy, you can't go wrong here!
