Find Your Passion, Live It Out

Do what makes you happy.

Find Your Passion, Live It Out
Chloe Knappenberger

We have all been told to do whatever makes us happy. Life is short, so we need to make our lives passionate and purposeful. Rather than agreeing to situations out of obligation, we must pursue them with passion. Anyone can say yes, but you must take the extra step to commit yourself to truly make something happen.

It all comes down to the fact that you shouldn’t commit to something you are not passionate about. In college, I continuously see people joining clubs and accepting leadership positions that they do not put their heart and soul into. This not only adds unnecessary stress to the person, but it also adds stress to their peers. When you are part of a group and not fully invested, you are not the only one struggling. There are so many opportunities out there, don’t waste your time on something you are not passionate about.

I encourage you to truly find your passion and live it out. There is so much good to be done in the world, and there is a position for everyone. I am very passionate about service, and it is where I believe I can give everything I have. Others may be passionate about an athletic team they are a part of. It does not matter what you are involved in, what matters is that you are invested. If you are to be a leader, do your job. Live out your commitments to the groups with which you identify yourself. There are so many great opportunities to be who you are meant to be and strive in your element.

Therefore, it is so important to be understanding of others. Listen to their stories and find out what they are passionate about. Life works so smoothly when people work to their full potential and there is harmony within a group of people. Do what you want, but give your whole self. No one is making you do anything. Choose something that makes you happy, be a part of something that helps you live your truth. When you work hard for something, the rewards are endless. The rewards are physical achievement as well as internal achievement. Work for a greater good, a cause far beyond measure of success or failure.

When it comes down to it, my point is to work hard and love what you are doing and with whom you are with. Put your heart and soul into everything you do and live out the commitments you make. Life is short, do what makes you happy!

Everyone tells you that college is hard, but they fail to explain why. Sure, classes are hard. Math sucks, and political science can be so boring. But that's not even what's killing me about college. What's killing me about college is my deterioating mental health.

As a college student, I feel as if people don't understand just how exhausted I, and fellow college students are. We have so many things going on, all the time, and sometimes it's hard to explain to people how we feel. Personally...I'm tired. I'm sad. And I'm struggling every single day with my emotions. But the thing is, it hasn't always been this way. I haven't always hated school, so why am I feeling like this now?
