I've always believed in love and people being in love. I've felt what it's like to be loved by family and friends. However, I always questioned what it would be like to feel the love that comes from that one person. Ya know, my McDreamy...my Chuck...my Ezra...or whatever character you'd like to say. I think, for me, I've finally figured out what I'm looking for and maybe this is what you've already found.
1) Someone that makes you feel tingly inside
Tingly is the only word that I believe describes how that person could make me feel. It's like you've got a million tiny butterflies fluttering around your whole body when you see them or hear their voice. It's when you feel every emotion you have for that person in a split second and they run through every nerve ending you have.
2) Someone that is your best friend first
I think this one is SO important. I don't just want someone who will kiss me and tell me I'm beautiful all the time. Sure, that's wonderful but I need someone that I'm comfortable being around when I don't look my best. I want them to understand that I'm a dork sometimes and I crack some corny jokes (99% of the time) but laugh anyway. This may seem cheesy, but I want to be able to make ugly faces at each other and not have to worry if it was too ugly...because let's be honest, some can be pretty brutal.
3) Someone who teaches you
I love learning new things about people. Seeing their eyes light up when they tell you about their passions and dreams is probably the best thing. I feel like a relationship should be about helping a person grow, developing new passions, and learning a different perspective. What better way to gain those things than you and your significant other investing time into each other's goals and desires?
I've recently realized that these few points are SUPER important. I don't think I can say that I've ever been in love with someone (yet) but when I find these things in a person, I'm holding onto them. Honestly, how often do you find someone that makes you feel head over heels crazy?
