Find Someone Who Makes You Unafraid To Love

Once you find the one, love is worth every second, as long as that person makes you unafraid to love.

Find someone who lets you live out all your dreams. Who lets you sing off-key to your favorite songs at the top of your lungs. Who lets you binge watch your favorite TV show on your day off. Who lets you wear whatever you feel comfortable in and makes you most happy. Who lets you recite every line to your favorite movie after agreeing (not so enthusiastically) to watch it with you for the 30th time.

Find someone who takes you on adventures. Who will surprise you with concert tickets to your favorite band. Who will run on two hours of sleep because they spent 7 hours on the phone with you the night before. Who will watch the sunrise with you, with their arms wrapped around you and your head leaning on their chest. Who will share their hobbies and interests with you, and make you experience things you've never experienced before.

Find someone who challenges you. Who will respect your thoughts and feelings, but make you see different perspectives of them. Who will approach you with sincere honesty and truth, even if it may be hard to handle at first. Who will push you to overcome any obstacles in your life, and be there on the other side to cheer you on. Find someone who is your biggest fan.

Find someone who will love you for all the right reasons. Who won't try to change you to fit some idea in their head of how you should act. Someone who praises the positives and doesn’t dwell on the negatives. Someone who teaches you to fall in love with your insecurities. Someone who never lets you forget how beautiful you are even if you're bloated, your makeup is smudged under your eyes, and your hair hasn't been washed in days.

Find someone who makes you hopeful instead of fearful. Someone you can feel safe around and know that even if something goes wrong, it won’t be long until it’s right again. Someone who lets you know they’ll always be there for you even when things get tough. Someone who supports you fully and will always put your safety above all else.

Love is hard work. It will test your limits and your boundaries. It will make you crazy at some times. Tears will be shed, your heart may break, and you’ll vow to never put your heart out there again. But love is also a beautiful feeling. It will make you happy, hopeful, excited to start each morning knowing your best friend is at your side. It will make you realize new things, discover parts of yourself you never knew existed. Give you an entirely new outlook on life.

Once you find the one, love is worth every second, as long as that person makes you unafraid to love.

Parks and Recreation excitedly gathered around a laptop at a table in an office setting.

The library. Club lib. The place every college student goes when they want to try and be a productive member of society. Who better to explain your experience than Parks and Rec?

1. When you've finally found the energy to leave your dorm room and walk into the lib like

Taylor Swift in orange dress playing a moss-covered piano on stage with bright lights.

A three-and-a-half-hour runtime. Nine Eras. Eleven outfit changes. Three surprise songs. Zero breaks. One unforgettable evening. In the past century, no other performer has put on an electric performance quite like Taylor Swift, surpassing her fans ‘wildest dreams’. It is the reason supporters keep coming back to her shows each year. Days later, I’m still in awe of the spectacle ‘Miss Americana’ puts on every few days in a new city. And, like one of Taylor’s exes, has me smiling as I reminisce about the memories of the night we spent together.

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.
