Before you can hope to be loved by someone else, you must first fall in love with yourself.

Our society teaches us about what relationships should and should not be. More accurately, pop culture and social media suggest how to look, think, and behave, and these views often conflict. Women are supposed to demonstrate sex appeal and maintain a slim waist with a big bum while also being conservative and respectful- wearing more and going out less.

So what are we really supposed to do? How are we supposed to act? From some of the most inspirational quotes, I am going to tell you exactly how to find the right someone, and to find happy relationships.

1. “We accept the love we think we deserve.”

-Stephen Chbosky, "The Perks of Being a Wallflower"

We do, in fact, accept the love we think we deserve, but how do we know what we deserve?

2. "Know yourself, know your worth"

-Drake, "0 to 100"

This is THE most essential part of any relationship: you. Know who you are, know what you want, and understand what you deserve. Spend time alone with yourself and find out, or DECIDE, who you are. What kind of person do you want to be? Motivated? Loving? Caring? Independent? It doesn't matter who are what it is, just that it is you. The easiest way to be unhappy is to anything but utterly and completely yourself.

3. You must learn to love yourself before you can love someone else

Once you know who you are, you must learn to fall in love with that person. Accept who you are, accept your flaws, acknowledge your strengths and do not be held back by your weaknesses. How can you expect someone else to love who you are, if you don't?

4. Find someone who loves you as you are

Yes, these people really exist. You will find people who love and accept you for what you are and not try to change that. Imagine it this way: would you want to be in a relationship with someone who you were trying to change? It takes effort and patience and there is no guarantee that change will ultimately happen. Why would you allow anyone to actively try and change who you already know and love yourself to be?

5. "I won't give up on us even if the skies get rough"

-Jason Mraz, "I Won't Give Up"

WHEN you find the right someone who loves all your curves and all your edges, do not let go easily. Fight for the things you want. Even on your worst days, remember what keeps you around.

6. "I hope you live a life you're proud of. If you find that you are not, I hope you have the strength to start all over again"

-F. Scott Fitzgerald

Above all else, there are circumstances beyond our control. There are all-encompassing loves that last a lifetime and there are unrequited loves. I hope that these quotes lead you to happy relationships, but if not, I hope that they give you the courage to change the things that weigh on you. I hope that at the end of every day, you have found happiness, and otherwise, you will find change.

It is never to late to start living, or start loving yourself. After that, everything will fall in place. I just hope that you have the courage to believe that.

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
