Some summers end up being perfect. Maybe you finally went on that vacation you've been planning for years, coming home with great memories and Instagram pictures. Some of us strike it lucky, having that special guy that makes every day better. Even if you spent your summer slaving away at work, that before school shopping trip is going to be legit. After such a great summer, how are we supposed to find motivation for school? No one can stay in vacation mode forever, as much as I wish that wasn't true. Your guy will still be able make you smile while you're at school, and we all know money doesn't grow on trees! Going back to school can be a buzzkill, but here on some tips to keep up the good vibes as another year begins.

1. Be optimistic!

If you go into the year with an open mind and a positive attitude, it won't be so painful getting back into the groove. Not only will the people around you appreciate your bright and sunny attitude, but you'll find that it takes more to get to you.

2. Make a schedule.

Before you move in, take the time to sit down and lay out your weekly schedule so you have time to prepare yourself. There is nothing worse than getting back to school and having no idea what's going on while stress creeps in with each surprise on your to-do-list. Be proactive!

3. Try new things.

Especially if you went on vacation, getting back in that college dorm room can kill your spirits. Get out and try some new things! Meet new people and get excited about the opportunities you'll get this year. Fun is always healthy!

4. Exercise daily.

If your summer was even remotely active, keep up that momentum! Get in the gym or go on a walk. Staying active will keep your body happy, which will keep you happy too!

5. Eat healthy.

If you give your body the fuel it needs, then it will be able to do the work you need it to. A good meal will go a long way in your happiness when school starts to get crazy.

5. Put effort in your school work.

If you give your best effort in school from the start, you won't have that panic attack after midterms. Once you give in and procrastinate or cheat once, there's no going back. Don't give in, and you'll be able to enjoy your free time without feeling guilty about grades.

6. Take a break when you need one.

It's OK to say you need a minute. If things are piling up, take a step back and take a deep breath. Watch your favorite movie or cheat on you healthy diet. Treat yourself to a relaxing break to get you refreshed and ready to go again.

6 Signs You Are An English Major

There are various stereotypes about college students, most of which revolve around the concept of your major. Unfortunately, we often let stereotypes precede our own judgments, and we take what information is immediately available to us rather than forming our own opinions after considerable reflection. If I got a dollar for every time my friends have made a joke about my major I could pay my tuition. One stereotype on campus is the sensitive, overly critical and rigid English major. Here are six telltale signs you are one of them.

27 Things 'The Office' Has Taught Us

"The Office" is a mockumentary based on everyday office life featuring love triangles, silly pranks and everything in between. It can get pretty crazy for just an average day at the office.

When you were little, your parents probably told you television makes your brain rot so you wouldn't watch it for twelve straight hours. However, I feel we can learn some pretty valuable stuff from television shows. "The Office," while a comedy, has some pretty teachable moments thrown in there. You may not know how to react in a situation where a co-worker does something crazy (like put your office supplies in jello) but thanks to "The Office," now you'll have an idea how to behave ifsomething like that should happen.

Here are just a few of the things that religious Office watchers can expect to learn.

Being pre-med is quite a journey. It’s not easy juggling school work, extracurricular activities, volunteering, shadowing, research, and MCAT prep all at the same time. Ever heard of “pain is temporary, but GPA is forever?” Pre-meds don’t just embody that motto; we live and breathe it. Here are 10 symptoms you’re down with the pre-med student syndrome.

High School And College Sucked All Of The Fun Out Of Reading

Books were always about understanding for me, about learning the way someone else sees, about connection.

High School And College Sucked All Of The Fun Out Of Reading

I keep making this joke whenever the idea of books is brought up: "God, I wish I knew how to read." It runs parallel to another stupid phrase, as I watch my friends struggle through their calculus classes late at night in our floor lounge: "I hope this is the year that I learn to count." They're both truly idiotic expressions, but, when I consider the former, I sometimes wonder if there's some truth to it.

One Book Made Me Question Existence In Its Entirety

"The Stranger" by Albert Campus touches upon many heavy elements... but not in the way you expect. Although it touches upon the aspects of death and love, it also deals with a hidden philosophy similar to that of nihilism.

The story follows the short life events of Meursault, a Frenchman whose carelessness for his actions eventually ends him in jail and dependent on a jury of people to judge the ethicality of his decision and the punishment that he deserves. He eventually gets the death penalty and all throughout he is nonchalant and almost apathetic towards his situation. He finally snaps when the prison sends a priest to him to absolve him of his sins and to cajole him in confessing to the lord.
