For many of us, once the weekend comes a wave of relief presents itself. It's like completing a marathon - crossing the finish line. All of the things we have stressed about over the past week have disappeared - even if just for the next two days of bliss. Weekends can be busy, but maybe for some of us this isn't true. Whether it is a weekend job, or new things you find yourself stressing about that are separate from what goes on during your week, it can be hard to figure out how to balance it all.
This past week in particular proved to be quite stressful for me. With so much going on, it can be easy to let the stress get the best of you. As much as I hate to admit it, I definitely let this week get the best of me. I found myself searching for ways to create a balance between everything going on in my life, and I am happy to say that I found exactly what I was looking for. I ended up trying yoga with a friend on a whim, and it was the best decision I made all week. I used to mock it all the time. I never thought I was patient enough to actually get through a session, but once I took the time to try it and really open myself up to the benefits that come with yoga I ended up feeling much better about my crazy week.
Yoga helps you to relax and focus on things that are important. It helps you stop thinking about the next essay you have to write or the next shift you may have to work. I am very thankful that my friend introduced me to yoga this week and encourage everyone to try it. Stress is not worth the negative affects it has on your mind and body. Next time you find yourself stressed out, try turning your week around and doing something that will make you think and feel more positive about everything you have going on.
