There’s an overwhelming feeling of summer and freedom during the last few days of the semester. With these feelings also comes the overwrought feeling of finals! The top five ways we all deal with finals week are as follows.
1. Complaining about the studying instead of actually studying.
There is definitely a sense of accomplishment by at least talking about studying that it seems like talking about it is enough and the studying can wait until later.
2. Suddenly, the night before a final, coffee and caffeinated drinks are your saviors.
And then the feeling after the copious amounts of drinks that make you feel infinite, wear off and all you feel is like taking a three day long nap.
3. There’s so much to study, you start calculating the lowest possible grade you can get on the exam and still pass.
This is when you realize that the most work and effort you have put towards anything related to this final has all gone to this calculation.
4. You try to convince yourself you can squeeze in one more episode of that great new show you’re watching.
Because after “just one more,” you’ll have gotten the urge out of your system and you’ll be ready to focus on studying and nothing else -- or maybe after just five more.
5. When it’s finally over.
Despite all your shortcomings and undesirable study habits, it’s all finally over and you’ve survived!
