Finals Week As Told By Spongebob
Wikipedia

It's one of the most dreaded weeks of any college student's life: finals week. The one week where anything and everything that can possibly go wrong usually does. It's a week filled with stress, sleepless nights and coffee, lots of coffee. If you're feeling like nobody can relate or understand what you're going through, you need to take another look at Spongebob.

1. The week before finals you spend time calculating the minimum grade you need to get on each final to pass.

2. "I only need a 65 percent to pass? I've got this!"

3. You tell yourself this finals week is going to be different, and that you're going to study really hard.

4. You start out super motivated and studying intensely.

5. You feel like you can handle anything.

6. But five minutes into studying you're like:

7. You stay up studying.

8. While having to listen to your friends talk about all of their fun plans for the weekend.

9. And you're forcing yourself to stay in and study.

10. You're feeling ahead of the game until your teachers start assigning last minute projects and papers.

11. As if you're not already buried in enough assignments.

12. The panic sets in as you realize how much you still have to do in such a short amount of time.

13. You look at your old notes and realize you remember nothing.

14. You know that studying is hopeless at this point so you're just hoping you can somehow develop a photographic memory.

15. You show up to your first final like:

16. Feeling sorry for the people who have to see you like this:

17. And then you see those people who still dress nice for finals.

18. The teacher puts the test down in front of you and suddenly you forget everything.

19. You sit there trying to remember something, anything.

20. Next thing you know there's 10 minutes left and you have nothing.

21. You frantically start filling out answers trying to finish.

22. You leave the final acting like you just aced it.

23. But in reality you're freaking out.

24. And at the end of your last final when your emotional stability is at an all-time low.

25. In your head all you can think about is how badly you’ve failed.

26. You start thinking of backup plans if college doesn’t work out for you.

27. While you are waiting for your final grades:

28. You're super pumped when you find out you passed.

29. So you clear out everything you learned this semester.

30. And finally let yourself relax because it’s summer!

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.

December... it's full of finals, due dates, Mariah Carey, and the holidays. It's the worst time of the year, but the best because after finals, you get to not think about classes for a month and catch up on all the sleep you lost throughout the semester. But what's worse than finals week is the last week of classes, when all the due dates you've put off can no longer be put off anymore.

I know every college student has daily thoughts throughout their day. Whether you're walking on campus or attending class, we always have thoughts running a mile a minute through our heads. We may be wondering why we even showed up to class because we'd rather be sleeping, or when the professor announces that we have a test and you have an immediate panic attack.
