Finals Week: As Told By Les Miserables

That time of the year is here where students cry in the libraries and binge eat McDonalds. You got it, it's finals week. It’s okay, we have all been there, especially at 4 a.m. Regardless of your grade, do know that a grade doesn't define how smart you are. The classes you take and the lessons you learn are really just there to teach you how to grow up, and maybe learn a thing here and there. So in hopes to make finals week a little bit easier, here are some relateable feelings you face during finals week, as told by Les Miserables.

1. When you study for so long that you question your existence.

2. When the teacher asks on you to answer a question for the final review.

3. When you decide to have a party the weekend before finals because you can't anymore. #igiveup

4. When you do whatever it takes to feed yourself.

Maybe not that extreme.

5. When you feel like you are all alone and you question your own courage.

The saddest part of the entire movie.

6. When you hear how hard the final was and realize you know nothing.

7. The day of finals.

8. When you're so focused on the exam that when the teacher looks at you, you avoid eye contact.

"Look down, Look down...don't look him in the eye!"

9. When you give up, you start planning how to stop the final from happening.

10. When one final stands in the way of you and vacation.

11. When you feel that your dreams aren't worth fighting for anymore because life is too hard right now.#thestruggleisreal.

12. When you FINALLY make it out alive.

pale girl

Everyone has insecurities, that's just a fact. You didn't ask to be born this way. You didn't ask to inherit the one trait no one else in your family has. And you definitely didn't ask to be this ghostly white. But as soon as you've learned to live with it for a while (less wrinkles later on in life, right? right???) someone has to ruin it for you. They have to flaunt they're perfectly tanned body from Spring Break and hold their sun-kissed skin against yours. But I've had enough... here are the things that perpetually pale individuals are tired of hearing.

Being a part of any organization undoubtedly comes with the pitfalls of being grouped into negative stereotypes, and sororities are certainly no exception. Here are the top few things, that I find at least, are some of the most irritating misconceptions that find their way into numerous conversations...

8. "The whole philanthropy thing isn't real, right?"

Well all those fundraisers and marketing should would be a waste then wouldn't they?

11 Things Summer Nannies Can Relate To

There are plenty of obstacles that come when taking care of kids, but it's a very rewarding experience.

As a college student, being a nanny over the summer is both enjoyable and challenging. Underneath the seemingly perfect trips to the pool or countless hours spent playing Monopoly are the obstacles that only nannies will understand. Trading in your valuable summer vacation in return for three months spent with a few children less than half your age may seem unappealing, but so many moments make it rewarding. For my fellow summer nannies out there, I know you can relate.

There are a lot of really easy, common names in the U.S. and while many of those simple names have different spellings, most of the time, pronunciation is not an issue that those people need to worry about. However, others are not as fortunate and often times give up on corrections after a while. We usually give an A+ for effort. So, as you could probably imagine, there are a few struggles with having a name that isn’t technically English. Here are just a few…
