Though finals week is chaotic, awful and sleepless, there are some upsides. One upside is how much happier you will be when it's over. If you're feeling stressed or you're just procrastinating studying, take a break and watch the characters from Inside Out struggle through your finals week before you do.
1. When you don't have any more homework.
With a huge test right around the corner, you're not learning anything new, which means no more reading or doing homework problems.
2. When you have all of the studying to do.
You don't have to do homework, but you do have to spend hours upon hours going over notes and making flash cards.
3. When you try to study in the library.
All of a sudden everyone wants to hang out in the library, and someone stole your usual comfy chair. Now you have to wander around the library until you find an open seat.
4. When your papers are due.
That big paper you've been putting off all semester is due next week. Now you have to spend all weekend studying AND writing a paper.
5. When your final projects are also due.
At first you thought it was great that the professor had a final project rather than a final test, but now you actually have to work on the project.
6. When you realize you won't get any sleep.
You realize that you have way more material to cover than you originally thought, and you don't remember any of it. Now you have to decide if it's easier to stay up late, wake up super early or stay up all night.
7. When you're living off coffee.
You don't actually like coffee, but it's the only thing keeping you from falling asleep and drooling all over your notes. Also, good coffee can be expensive.
8. When you forget to eat.
You've been so busy studying that you don't remember to eat until you're in the middle of the final and your stomach makes a loud, animal noise.
9. When you turn in your last final.
The relief washes over you, and you feel all of your responsibilities fade away.
10. When you have to pack.
The relief lasts all of 10 minutes before you realize that you haven't started packing up your dorm for the summer.
11. When you have to drive home.
The hours drag on as the radio plays the same songs over and over, and you think about getting home to see your dog. You also realize that you'll have to unpack when you get there, and you start dreading getting home.
12. When you finally make it home for the summer.
You pull into the driveway, excited to relax and sleep for days. Your dog runs out to greet you, you run inside to use the bathroom and you celebrate your much needed break from school.
