Finals Week As Told By Michael Scott From 'The Office'

Before we know it, we will be packing up our stuff and heading home for the summer. But before we get to do that, we must all endure the nightmare that is finals week. From endless cups of coffee to all-nighters at the library, finals week is one week that we all can't wait to be over. For those of you who are dreading a week of studying and exams, here is finals week as told by one of our favorite people, a college student at heart: Michael Scott from "The Office."

When all of your professors decide to make the exams cumulative.

When you have to wake up for an 8 a.m. final.

When you see the line at Starbucks.

When you try to get last-minute help before an exam.

When the exam is nothing like the study guide.

When your find out the exam will be curved.

When you're stuck spending hours at the library when all you want to do is watch Netflix.

When you treat yourself to a study break.

When you decide to quickly check your phone and end up spending an hour on social media.

When you have a rare moment of freedom outside of the library.

When someone brags about how they only have one final.

When you're required to give peer evaluations for final projects.

When it's time for you to go back to the library.

When someone tries to use an entire table at the library for themselves.

When people are talking while you're trying to study.

When it's time for your next exam.

When you hear everyone skip the first page.

When there is a surprise essay question.

When you overhear people comparing answers after the exam.

When someone lets you pet their dog and it makes you forget about the final you definitely just failed.

When, in the midst of studying and exams, you realize that soon you have to say goodbye to your friends for the summer.

And then when you see one of said friends in between exams.

When you it's time to take your next exam and you actually know the majority of the answers.

When you walk out of your last final into sweet freedom.

When you realize the semester is finally over and it is officially summer.

But then you spend the next week waiting for grades to be inputted.

Dear Mom,

You took care of me and my brothers our entire lives and you still continue to! I will not be able to truly grasp all of the hard work that you put into this family until I create my own one day. But, I know that there are plenty of times I forgot to give you a simple thank you or an appreciative smile. I thank you for everything that you have done for me and will continue to do for me. Here are some examples of those times where you had my back and I forgot to pat your back for saving me:

College is hard. As people ages 18-22, we’re just trying to figure out what we’re doing with our lives, our careers, our eating habits, exercise routines, sleep patterns, and other necessities for adult life. We definitely don’t take proper care of ourselves; it’s basically impossible when we have essays, tests and readings due and somehow we’re supposed to eat right, exercise and sleep. We’re doomed to get sick. I have zero experience in science but when I get sick there are certain things I do to make myself better.

Now that it seems “talking” is the new way to date, and will stay that way until another idiotic term is used to describe the people who can’t settle down and just date someone, I feel as if it’s time to go over the unwritten rules of “talking.”

Rule 1. Having feeling without feeling.
