If there's anyone cut out to tell the story of finals week, it's Kevin Hart.

Sunday

For finals week first comers, the road to a successful semester has a mysterious ending. How should I be studying? Wait, I have to know 120 terms by Wednesday? How is this even legal? All of these questions are very valid and common. For finals weeks’ professionals, the stress is still there, but the techniques have been mastered. For both types of finals week participants, though, no one has any idea what is going on and it’s just a frenzy of stress and confusion.

Monday

It’s the last day of classes for the semester, but all thoughts are on finals. The mountains of study guides are piling up and taking up 100% of your bed. The unknowings of whether you pass this semester is making you want to just lay down and sleep forever. And let’s not forget your favorite Netflix show just came out with new episodes.

Tuesday

Binge studying is what every student is probably going through, as well as Netflix withdrawals and sheer uncertainty. The library is a great place to study, but it also is the most emotional place to be. Everywhere you turn you are bound to see at least 10 mental breakdowns going down. It is a very emotional and stressful time of finals week because it is the last full day to just study and prepare for your upcoming exams.

Wednesday

The magical day has finally arrived. All semester this coveted day has been awaited by everyone. The day that finals officially begin. Now this does not mean people stop studying, it just means that during your study break you get to take a final. Hopefully you feel confident in all your course material, but either way anything can happen once you walk into your classroom and sit in your seat.

Thursday

After having at least one final up your sleeve, you are hopefully met with a new-found confidence. Either you realized you were stressing over nothing or you now know how to prepare differently for you remaining finals. Worst case scenario: you begin to question every minute of every day since the beginning of the semester and you rethink your whole life. That is the complete extreme. Hopefully.

Friday

The weekend is so close. Only a few tests separate you from a much needed break. After working so hard you can start to see that the end is very near. After nonstop studying, a relaxing few days is what you need to prepare for the next week. Plus, for those lucky few, Friday marks the last day of finals so you are finally free to pack up and go home. For those who still have a few more days of finals to go next week, hang in there; you are doing great!

Saturday

The weekend is finally here. Everyone take a huge sigh of relief. The fun of having no finals and getting to hang out with your friends is so exciting. Go out and enjoy your time. Some may even get to go home and see their family and friends from home. For the unlucky some who still haven’t finished the marathon we call finals week yet, at some point during the day you might remember that you still have some studying to do and that all this fun will soon come to a halt. However, don’t worry that is why Sunday exists.

Happy Winter Break!

Summer: a time (usually) free from school work and a time to relax with your friends and family. Maybe you go on a vacation or maybe you work all summer, but the time off really does help. When you're in college you become super close with so many people it's hard to think that you won't see many of them for three months. But, then you get that text saying, "Hey, clear your schedule next weekend, I'm coming up" and you begin to flip out. Here are the emotions you go through as your best friend makes her trip to your house.

Winter break is over, we're all back at our respective colleges, and the first week of classes is underway. This is a little bit how that week tends to go.

The professor starts to go over something more than the syllabus

You get homework assigned on the first day of class

There are multiple group projects on the syllabus

You learn attendance is mandatory and will be taken every class

Professor starts chatting about their personal life and what inspired them to teach this class

Participation is mandatory and you have to play "icebreaker games"

Everybody is going out because its 'syllabus week' but you're laying in bed watching Grey's Anatomy

Looking outside anytime past 8 PM every night of this week

Nobody actually has any idea what's happening this entire week

Syllabus week is over and you realize you actually have to try now...or not

Now it's time to get back into the REAL swing of things. Second semester is really here and we all have to deal with it.

panera bread

Whether you specialized in ringing people up or preparing the food, if you worked at Panera Bread it holds a special place in your heart. Here are some signs that you worked at Panera in high school.

1. You own so many pairs of khaki pants you don’t even know what to do with them

Definitely the worst part about working at Panera was the uniform and having someone cute come in. Please don’t look at me in my hat.

7 Ways to Make Your Language More Transgender and Nonbinary Inclusive

With more people becoming aware of transgender and non-binary people, there have been a lot of questions circulating online and elsewhere about how to be more inclusive. Language is very important in making a space safer for trans and non-binary individuals. With language, there is an established and built-in measure of whether a place could be safe or unsafe. If the wrong language is used, the place is unsafe and shows a lack of education on trans and non-binary issues. With the right language and education, there can be more safe spaces for trans and non-binary people to exist without feeling the need to hide their identities or feel threatened for merely existing.
