For most college students, finals week is go time. It is the point when you realize you haven’t been paying nearly enough attention in class. You try and make up for a semester of slacking off by studying extra hard for 72 hours during the weekend before.

Someone has your back, though. There are two women in this world who know exactly how you’re feeling. Some might even say that these two musical geniuses wrote their lyrics just for you.

Here is a day by day playlist for finals week that will give your roller coaster of emotions a set of tracks to cling to.

The Day Before Your First Final.

Destiny’s Child: “Bootylicious”

On this day you’ve studied up on all your subjects and you’re so confident in your test-taking abilities that no one could be ready for this jelly you’re bringing. Go you!

The Week Begins.

Day 1

Beyonce: “Run the World (Girls)”

So, you’re still feeling pretty good at this point. You are ready to attack that first final with a fiery fist full of knowledge. No matter your gender, today, you run the world. You are about to get in there and get it done!

Day 2

Beyonce: “Love Drought”

Okay, okay so that first final didn’t go the way you expected but you have to keep going. Plead with yourself, “Cause you…and me could move a mountain.” Stay positive friends.

Day 3

Destiny’s Child: “Survivor”

Setbacks happen, and no matter how the week is going at this point you know you can do it. You’re half way through the week and the finish line is in sight! Let the strong voices of this Destiny’s Child classic guide you through the day.

Day 4

Beyonce: “All Night”

You have a test tomorrow and you don’t feel prepared so what do you do? You grab a dangerously caffeinated beverage and vow to stay up until you have learned the material. But, what’s this? What are you doing? Losing stamina, that’s what. Well, now you’ve done it, friends. At this point, you will have entered Adele territory.

Day 5

Adele: “Hello”

You stayed up all night…and now all you can do is turn in your paper, or take your test and hope for the best. As you watch from the other side, at least you can say you’ve tried.

Day 6

Adele: “All I Ask”

As you know, yesterday did not go well but the week is almost over. Defeat and relief each wash over you as you contemplate what the remnants of this week will mean for the rest of your life. “Look, don’t get me wrong. I know there is no tomorrow.”

Day 7

Adele: “Take it All”

It is obvious that you’ve had a rough week. We won’t look back at you, you crumbling fool. As you pick up your dignity, please bow out gracefully.

The Day After Finals Week

Adele: “Remedy”

Let us leave on this final note. “When the world seems so cruel and your heart makes you feel like a fool. I promise you will see that I will be, I will be your remedy.” Fret not, sleepy college student, Adele is here for you.

If you’re feeling bummed after finals week don’t just sit around and sulk, put on some Beyonce and bring some excitement back into your life. After all, the semesters over and you are free!

Good luck with finals everyone!

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.

December... it's full of finals, due dates, Mariah Carey, and the holidays. It's the worst time of the year, but the best because after finals, you get to not think about classes for a month and catch up on all the sleep you lost throughout the semester. But what's worse than finals week is the last week of classes, when all the due dates you've put off can no longer be put off anymore.
