Finals Week According To Kelly Kapoor

We all get a little dramatic, okay?

Let's face the facts. When we're talking about "The Office," no one ever jumps up and tells everyone that they're just like Kelly Kapoor. That's not because Kelly isn't hilarious and amazing, because trust me, she is. It's just that Kelly tends to be a bit... over dramatic. Her life is nothing short of a roller-coaster, mainly because she makes it that way, but she thrives on the drama. She may be a little self-absorbed, drama prone and slightly psychotic, but she's also just like you during finals week. The semester is almost over, summer's so close to being here, and three months away from books, homework and professors is all close enough to touch. But first you have to get through hell week. The week of no sleep, insane amounts of studying, and all-nighters at the library. It might be the stress or the lack of sleep or the undeniable need to shove fourteen cupcakes down your throat, but eventually, somewhere in those seven days, you become a Kelly.

When the professor asks if you have any questions about the final.

When you try to convince yourself eating your stress away won't backfire.

Realizing you have three exams, two papers and four presentations due on the same day.

And then convincing yourself that you'll study ahead of time and will not procrastinate under any circumstances.

But you wait to cram everything in until the last minute and end up looking like a caffeine addicted zombie.

And those papers you're writing start to blur together entirely

When you realize that trying to stay focused while reading your notes is truly just impossible.

And the 10 seconds before the professor passes out the exam is the worst in your life.

But thankfully, this is how you feel after you inevitably ace all your exams.

When I was learning how to talk, I was taught both Portuguese and English at the same time. In elementary school, I started taking mandatory Spanish classes, which I did well in because of my knowledge of Portuguese. Then in high school, on top of taking Spanish, I also started taking French. Now, in college, already fluent in English and Portuguese, I'm in the process of becoming fluent in Spanish, and I have a standard high school level understanding of French.

I am without a doubt one of those people who refuses to start decorating for Christmas or listen to Christmas music until after Thanksgiving. Unfortunately, Thanksgiving has become an underrated holiday over the years. You barely see any Thanksgiving decorations in stores; it's like they skip right from Halloween to Christmas.

Some universities only get two or three days off for Thanksgiving break. Or, if your university is like mine, you get the whole week off go go home. A whole week off is a long time. I'm not complaining, because I'd rather have a whole week off than three days, but there is a lot of down time. Here are some ideas as to what you can do to get the most out of your Thanksgiving break.

For college students everywhere, Thanksgiving is a time to relax and not really worry about homework (well, depending on what major you're in).
