Don't Stress Too Much About Finals

Because you're not alone.

It's the most terrible time of the semester, finals! Depending on what college o university you attend, you've either already took your finals, or you're about to take your finals. Whatever the case may be, we can all agree on the fact that finals just plain suck.

College, in general, is just stressful. Having to take more twelve or more credit hours, registering for the correct course, and studying every single day. The first day of the semester you tell yourself that you can handle the workload, that you'll be on top of your game, and excel in your academic ability.

Come finals week and you still have to write six papers, create a presentation, take three exams, and find time to breathe and eat within that busy schedule. Right now is crunch time. I myself am rapidly getting work done as fast as humanly possible. We've al been there, and we're all in this position at the moment.

All of this studying, reading, and writing is stressful at the moment. But the best feeling in the world is when you know you don't ever have to think about the material as soon as you're done with your final assignments. Once you put that pencil down, you can take the longest nap. You are finally free from the clutches of academics, at least until

The following semester begins.

Just know that you are more than capable to succeed. Get plenty of rest before your exams. Take study breaks if you have to. Eat plenty of snacks, and drink plenty of coffee and water to keep hydrated and energized. Organize your studying; split up the amount of studying for your courses evenly, so you won't feel guilty about studying for one class more than the other. Most importantly, try your best. Yes, there could be a lot on the line.

But you can always take a class again, ask for academic forgiveness with your school's administration. No class, no exam, and no assignment is worth having a meltdown over.

If you feel like nobody is rooting for your success, just know that I am rooting for everyone's success, even my own. So good luck to everyone taking their finals in the upcoming weeks. If this is your first time taking college finals, or your last time taking college finals, just know that you'll do just fine.

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Bonus points if it is more than two.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
