It's the most wonderful awful time of the year, finals week! This week will not only test how much you have learned the past 16 weeks, but also how long you can stay up without sleeping, how much you can accomplish in a time crunch, and just how much sanity you have. So buckle up and get ready, keep your eye on the prize last week before break!

1. When you realize how close finals are

No matter what year of school you're in, finals always seem to sneak up on you

2. Realizing how much studying you're about to do

Whether you have procrastinated studying or not, the days leading up to your final exam are sure to cause extra stress.

3.*Imagining your professors writing the exam*

Do you think professors know the test they just wrote is virtually impossible? Probably. Do they care? Probably not.

4. When the professor says the exam is comprehensive, even though you've already been tested over the old material

Seriously someone explain the point of having a question over the very first words spoken in the semester.

5. Trying to decide if you should go to bed, or study more

The days leading up to finals are days with the most choices. What's going to help more, getting plenty of sleep while eating right, or not taking advantage of the 24 hour library and only leaving to drop through the local Taco Bell drive-through? I think the choice is obvious.

6. Realizing how long the test blocks are

Fifty-minute class periods are bad enough, but an hour and fifty-minute test periods are nearly impossible.

7. Pumping yourself up for your exam

It's vital to tell yourself you're going to do on the test, even if that means getting the minimum "what-if" score you typed into canvas.

8. What taking the test actually feels like, despite how much you studied

It seems like no matter how much you study, there's always some curve ball that appears on the test, or one thing you skipped over, thinking there was no way it would make its way to the final.

9. When something that was never covered in class, pops up on the exam

...Or when some completely new concept was important enough to be on the test, but not important enough be brought up in lecture.

10. When you're already down about your first final, but still have more to take

After a rough first final, it seems hard to keep pushing through, but your other grades depends on it.

11. Midway through the week, trying to decide if college is even worth all the stress you're going through

This week of stress and horror may not seem worth it quite yet, but one day it will all pay off.

12. Trying to get through the last few days of finals week

Keep an eye on the finish line, and remember you're almost done!

13. Realizing you made a stupid mistake on a test you've already taken

When focusing on the main concepts and big ideas, don't forget about the simple stuff that you definitely know how to do! And if you do mess up, don't feel too bad. Everyone's been there.

14. Trying to kiss up to your professors so they will bump your grade

So maybe your test didn't go so well, there's no shame of telling your teacher how much you enjoyed their class in hopes of earning a few points back.

15. Finally finishing your last exam a.k.a. finishing the semester and getting to go home for the holidays

There's no better feeling than turning in your last exam and hitting the road. It seems like you've been through Hell and back, but just think of all the Christmas ham that is waiting for you back home.

6 Signs You Are An English Major

There are various stereotypes about college students, most of which revolve around the concept of your major. Unfortunately, we often let stereotypes precede our own judgments, and we take what information is immediately available to us rather than forming our own opinions after considerable reflection. If I got a dollar for every time my friends have made a joke about my major I could pay my tuition. One stereotype on campus is the sensitive, overly critical and rigid English major. Here are six telltale signs you are one of them.
