7 Tips For This Finals Season
Her Campus

There was tailgate szn, basketball szn, formal szn...now it's finals szn! Finals can be rough and getting yourself to study can be hard, so here are some helpful study tips.

1. Sleep

Sometimes amidst all the studying, you forget to get some Z's. Sufficient sleep can help you focus and make your time spent studying more worthwhile.

2. Study>going out

Put that Natty Lite down; the party is over...grades should always come first. Missing a few social gatherings that you probably won't remember anyways will be well worth it. Focus on your education right now and celebrate when finals are over.

3. Don't skip meals

You need calories to focus. If you're spending the day in the library, it is easy to forget to eat. Pack nutritious snacks or bring lunch to-go!

4. Think positively

You got this! Have some confidence! Positive self-talk can help you succeed.

5. Flashcards & review sheets

Quizlet allows you to make helpful online flashcards and review games...this can be an alternative to conserve paper!

6. Study groups

These are a great way to review with multiple perspectives. Also, if you have any questions, someone in the group may know the answer!

7. Put that phone down

It's only going to distract you. Each time that phone buzzes, you'll lose focus.

Good luck! Hope these tips help!

High School And College Sucked All Of The Fun Out Of Reading

I keep making this joke whenever the idea of books is brought up: "God, I wish I knew how to read." It runs parallel to another stupid phrase, as I watch my friends struggle through their calculus classes late at night in our floor lounge: "I hope this is the year that I learn to count." They're both truly idiotic expressions, but, when I consider the former, I sometimes wonder if there's some truth to it.

The Daily Struggles of Being a College Commuter

It's not all morning coffees and singing along to the radio.

The Daily Struggles of Being a College Commuter
morethanwheels

I've been in college for four years now. I spent half my time as a commuter and half as a resident so I've experienced both sides of the housing spectrum. One thing I've learned comparing the two is that my struggles as a commuter far outweigh anything I went through while living on campus. Commuters have to deal with the problems school brings along with a slew of other issues; I've filled up my gas tank in the worst kind of weather conditions and napped in random places in public more times than I'm proud to say of. This is a list of some of the most challenging aspects of being a commuter.
