It's finals season all around college campuses and stress levels are rising on the daily. Locking yourself in the library and kissing your social life goodbye are common activities for every student near this time. In order to bring a little light into this stressful time of year, here are some common thoughts from college students during finals season from the cast of "Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt".

1. Coming back to school after Thanksgiving break and realizing there's only a few weeks left in the semester for you to pull your grades up.

How is it already December? When did my grades get this bad?

2. Laughing a little extra when your professor makes a joke hoping they’ll somehow round your 69 to an 80.

*aggressive laughing turns into hysterical sobbing*

3. Logging into Blackboard and seeing your grades and realizing how much work you need to do in order to finish the semester with a good GPA.

Oh my God. That can’t be right. What have I been doing all semester?

4. When your friends ask, “How was your final?”

*Hunger Games whistle plays in the background*

5. Studying and looking at your notes like...

What does any of this even mean?

6. When people in your class ask if something will be on the final but you have literally no memory of learning that and absolutely no idea what they are talking about.

No, really, what is going on?

7. Pretending like you have it all together when your mom calls and asks how you’re doing.

I’m fine, it’s fine, everything is fine mom!!

8. When the person next to you is rambling on about how they’ve already been studying for weeks.

Okay we get it Becky, you can put away your color coordinated flash cards now!

9. Looking at the final exam schedule and seeing how many back to back exams you have.

Ok, Math 8-10 a.m., then History 11-1 p.m., then Stat 2-4 p.m.

10. Saying goodbye to your friends as you walk into your exam.

Will I make it out alive?

11. When you’re all out of meal swipes.

I haven’t been eating healthy this entire semester, what’s a few more days?

12. When your professor starts a new section during the last class before the final.

Is this a joke? This HAS to be a joke, right?

13. Trying to comfort your friends during their 3rd mental breakdown that week.

You’re doing great, sweetie!!

14. When you finally understand a problem you’ve been working on for hours.

HALLELUJAH! Now only 64 more…

15. Looking at the first question on the exam and realizing you’re doomed.

Well there goes the hours and hours I spent studying!!

16. Visual representation of what it feels like to be a college student to be finals season.

Me: 0 Finals Season: 1000000

17. Driving home for the holidays knowing very well that you did the best you can but it still probably wasn’t enough.

Well, there’s always next semester!!

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.

For a moment your world is spinning. The phone alarm has just scared you awake and you’re flooded by daunting thoughts of the day ahead. You have three assignments due and little time to work on them because of your job. You’re running late because you’ve hit snooze one to many times after yesterday’s long hours. You dizzily reach for a hoodie, craving its comfort, and rush for a speedy exit, praying you will have time to pick up coffee. Does this sound familiar?

Finals week is upon us. It is a magical time of year during which college students everywhere flock to the library in attempt to learn a semester's worth of knowledge in only a week. For some students, it's their first time in the library all semester, maybe ever. Others have slaved away many nights under the fluorescent lights, and are slightly annoyed to find their study space being invaded by amateurs.
