Finals Season, According To Elf

Christmas music does wonders for studying.

Finals Season, According To Elf

For college students, the time after Thanksgiving and before Christmas is known as the worst season of them all: finals season. It's cold, we have to take cumulative tests in almost every class, and — worst of all — it's not Christmas yet.

To give you a break from the never-ending studying and to brighten your spirits, turn to one of the best Christmas movies ever made: Elf. If Will Ferrell can't make finals season better, no one can.

Stage 1: Motivation.

You realize the importance of final exams to the final grades in each of your classes and vow to yourself to ace them all this year.

Stage 2: Excitement.

For some reason Christmas music seems to really get you through studying. You're not sure why, but you start studying early this year, hopeful that your hard work will pay off.

Stage 3: Sleep Deprivation.

Studying all day and all night does crazy things to you. Caffeine and sugar help some, but you've never been so exhausted. This stage ends with you falling asleep on those calc problems... probably a sign it's time to take a power nap.

Stage 4: Post-exam Frustration.

That class was supposed to be easy... it'll be curved, right? You studied for hours and still feel like you failed. And the worst part is that you still have more to go.

Stage 5: Anxiety.

Anxiety from looking at your final grades, or just waiting for them to come out. You didn't sign up for this. Weeks later, and that professor still hasn't put the grades up — and the test was a Scantron. Come on. But the real question is: do you even want to see the scores?

Stage 6: Relief.

Netflix, sleep, and holiday festivities all just became much more fun since you don't have to worry about exams. And the best part is you're one step closer to Christmas!

I'm serious

There are tons of unisex names that are popular: Taylor, Alex, Bailey, etc. There are also numerous names that are used for both sexes, but they’re not seen as “unisex” yet. People are slowly becoming accustomed to the dual use of these names, but for the most part, in their minds they associate certain names with certain sexes. And that leaves those of us with these names in many awkward situations.

You know that all of these things apply to you. You'll just never tell.

I'm an anthropology major, and I love every minute of it. I couldn't tell you why, but I guess there's just something about studying different lifestyles that absolutely fascinates me. But anthropology majors definitely have our weird sides, especially when you go to a school that is filled with mostly Business and Bio majors. But us weirdos definitely have a lot in common, specifically these 16 things.

pale girl

Everyone has insecurities, that's just a fact. You didn't ask to be born this way. You didn't ask to inherit the one trait no one else in your family has. And you definitely didn't ask to be this ghostly white. But as soon as you've learned to live with it for a while (less wrinkles later on in life, right? right???) someone has to ruin it for you. They have to flaunt they're perfectly tanned body from Spring Break and hold their sun-kissed skin against yours. But I've had enough... here are the things that perpetually pale individuals are tired of hearing.

Being a music major is not all kicks and giggles. In fact, there are days when I question my sanity and doubt myself as a musician. I know I am not the only one going through the struggle, and so here are 13 GIFs that I know my fellow music majors can relate to...
