Here it is again…a week to stress over, a week to cry about, a week to hate everything about school. Because your future depends on you passing this test, so you can pass a class, in order to pass the interview right? We put all of this stress on us for the end goal…

But what if the end goal isn’t worth all of those tears, those sleepless nights or the anxiety attacks. Every college kid dreads this week. If you know anyone who actually loves finals send them my way, I would love to meet this person. But in my past 4…or 5 (victory lap) years in college I’ve learned a few ways to get through this dreaded week without having a complete meltdown.

1.Get some sleep. – Yes, I know you need to cram in order to pass but your body needs rest in order to perform at the best of its ability. So study but then GO TO SLEEP.

.

2.Take a deep breath – We get overworked, stressed, and pissed at the Professor for this awful review “she didn’t go over any of this all year and now she expects us to know it all?” Yes, we all get that way. Take a deep breath and just continue to study.

3.Pray – Life doesn’t go our way, it’s not a ride in the park, and 5 tests in one week doesn’t help because on top of taking care of your dog, kid, work, and all the other responsibilities you now have five tests to ACE. Sit down have a minute to yourself and pray. Ask God to help you balance life, work, and school. Ask for patience and motivation. And thank him for having the opportunity to even go to school because not everyone is as blessed as you are.

It’s a hard week for us all but remember you’re almost done. Keep yourself in the right mindset because soon enough school will be something that’s in your past and that end goal will become your reality.

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Bonus points if it is more than two.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

As an English Major in college, I have a lot of writing and especially creative writing pieces that I work on throughout the semester and sometimes, I'll find it hard to get the motivation to type a few pages and the thought process that goes behind it. These are eleven thoughts that I have as a writer while writing my stories.

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
