College is a time to put yourself out there and get involved. Personally, It took me a whole year to realize this would do me more good than harm. My whole first year I went being extraordinarily bored and not knowing why, until I realized it was because I was not putting myself out there enough. That was something I decided to change this year.

As the school year began, I knew I wanted to get more involved, so I started to look at my options. One thing I found interesting was something called Leadership Weekend. This was a weekend dedicated to learning what it takes to be a leader and becoming a better one. I also knew I wanted to join a sorority, so I started going to informationals and events for that too. Not only that, but I also was invited to join what is called the National Society of Leadership and Success last year, so I have to finish that off as well.

I was super excited to begin everything but what I did not think of was how hectic life is going to be for the next month or so. Joining all of these organizations also means giving up all of my free time considering I still have other classes as well. I may have cut myself a little short when it comes to being able to handle everything all at once. I am not very good at handling stress so that is definitely something I am a little worried about.

But for the most part I am extremely excited. I no longer spend every day laying in bed wondering what all my friends are doing because I am the one that is actually out doing things for a change. And when it comes to stress, I have so many people here to support me and to go to if things become too difficult. I have my mom, my boyfriend, my friends and my big; all of whom I am incredibly grateful for. I know this might be hard but I have all of them supporting me and cheering me on. For the most part what it comes down to is time management and keeping track of everything I need to do. I may have a lot on my plate, but when it is all over it will be so worth it.

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Bonus points if it is more than two.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

As an English Major in college, I have a lot of writing and especially creative writing pieces that I work on throughout the semester and sometimes, I'll find it hard to get the motivation to type a few pages and the thought process that goes behind it. These are eleven thoughts that I have as a writer while writing my stories.

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
