The Final Five

The United States Women's Gymnastics Team

The Final Five

The Olympics is probably the most popular thing on television right now. There are plenty of sports to choose from with something for anyone's interest. My personal favorite is Women's gymnastics.

The physical feats these athletes perform are incredible and require an insane amount of strength. Gabby Douglas, Aly Raisman, Simone Biles, Laurie Hernandez, and Madison Kocian made up the monster of a team this year. The Final Five, as the girls revealed their name to be, are an unusual juggernaut that conquered the Olympics this year. These incredible women dominated, beating the other teams by almost ten points in the team all around, as well as the majority of the girls medaling in the other Olympic events. In addition to being on of the most amazing teams in a while, these five women are a spectacular example of strength and diversity.

The Final Five are five very powerful and strong women: they are a great example to young girls everywhere. I myself admire these ladies for their hard work. They have chased their dreams and achieved them. Their strength physically, mentally and emotionally is something to look up to for anyone. They deal with plenty of stress, and work wonderfully as a team.

The diversity among this team is a wonderful example of the United States and what I think we should be striving for. All the girls are from different backgrounds and ethnicities and are a beautiful example of the United States. They represent the melting pot that the U.S. is known for, and are refreshing in their equality during a time of racial unrest.

Among the pool of celebrities out there I think these girls are a great example of role models. Hard work is what achieves dreams and these girls definitely exemplify that. There are plenty of other sports that require hard work and dedication of course, but these ladies are an inspiration and breathtaking to watch.

For the average 20-something, life moves pretty fast. You’ve got classes, friends, relationships, jobs, family, and whatever else we overcommit ourselves with. I probably should have learned to say no to adding more to my schedule a long time ago, but instead here are 11 things that can be more helpful than coffee.

Resting b***h face. Defined as a person, usually a girl, who naturally looks mean when her face is expressionless, without meaning to. Many of you suffer from this "condition." You are commonly asked what's wrong, when nothing is. What people don't know is that is just your facial expression. Here are some things they wish you knew.

College students, you might be able to relate to this one. These probably sound familiar because we often tell ourselves these phrases; however, we are unable to follow or agree with these the following, deep down inside of our overwhelmed, tired minds.

1. "No more spending money on useless things"

Until you walk into a 99 cents store and suddenly have the urge to pick up anything that's less than a dollar.

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Bonus points if it is more than two.
