The film industry is innovative these days with streaming services, recordings of films, and special theatre events. Streaming services are innovative for the film industry because as we have grown, so has our ways of watching the films we know and love today. Netflix now has a way for you to watch movies through their service but you can also download certain movies so that you can watch your favorite films on the go as well. However, back in the day, there was funding that played a role in films in the 1930s. So it allowed audiences to see a big budget and low budget films, which was where the funding came in. If more audiences liked the lower budget films, they would soon see a change in the way of the film.
Another innovation is the recording of films via DVR. I remember my mom saying that in her day and age that they usually had 3 channels on their TV, so the movie would typically be on only at a certain time and if you missed it you would have to wait for the next time it was on. But now viewers can watch their favorite films by DVR if they know that they will be busy doing homework/studying while the newest Hallmark movie was premiering. So the times have certainly changed as there have been improvements in how we can watch films. There are also new effects that have paved the way for some of our favorite films like Toy Story, which is a well-known franchise today. So the effects have not only helped enhance and spice up the films, it has brought new audiences into the theatres that weren't aware of this innovation before.
Special theatre events happen with fathom events these days. They tend to host movie nights that feature older films on their anniversaries or even events that are based on books and conventions, including Rachel Hollis: Made for More. So these special events help bring in even more audience members than just your regular film audience, it brings in more diversity because anyone that has a passion for films can attend. There is room for everyone to enjoy watching films, and I think that movies are adding more diversity in today's films because they are hearing about the diversity that is coming in to buy candy/popcorn to see Isn't It Romantic.
