Fate. Fate is considered the development of events beyond someone's control. But what if we could control fate? What if we could control our own destiny? Could it be that our life would change forever.

Some say that fate is inevitable. That fate is simply fate. That fate doesn't care about your plans, but what if fate was controlled by us? Sure, the definition of fate says that it's uncontrollable, but what if each decision you make and each word you speak is what really determines your fate.

We live day by day getting up, usually doing the same routine over and over again, not even considering what could come our way. We see the world as an opportunity to live our life however we want to live. We go so fast that we forget to slow down and look at the good things in life.

Remember that saying, everything happens for a reason? Things do happen, but is there really a reason behind it or is that just an excuse we use to deal with the situation. We take the word fate and use it like it's just what is supposed to happen. But imagine if it really wasn't supposed to happen. What if things just happen, but it wasn't supposed to be fate.

The problem lies that we can't make other peoples decisions. We can't stop mother nature or the course of life, but we can make our own decisions and chose what path we take. We can control where we end up if we try hard enough and don't let fate stand in the way. We use fate and life and destiny as excuses for what happens to us. But what if it wasn't really supposed to happen? Along the way we made the wrong decision or somebody else intervened with the situation.

There's a saying that reads, you can't fight fate. But I disagree, I think you can fight fate because while others might stand in your way, you have the power to control where you end up. Life has uncontrollable events and sometimes they can run into your path. But instead of making excuses by saying, that's life or it's just fate running its course, why don't we do something about it! Sure, we can't control others or mother nature or even the course of life, but we can control ourselves. And the very core of fate lies in our own decisions.

You often meet your fate on the road you take to avoid it.

day·dream (ˈdāˌdrēm/): a series of pleasant thoughts that distract one's attention from the present.

Daydreams, the savior of our life in class. Every type of student in the classroom does it at least once, but most cases it is an everyday event, especially in that boring class -- you know the one. But what are we thinking while we are daydreaming?

11 Things Summer Nannies Can Relate To

As a college student, being a nanny over the summer is both enjoyable and challenging. Underneath the seemingly perfect trips to the pool or countless hours spent playing Monopoly are the obstacles that only nannies will understand. Trading in your valuable summer vacation in return for three months spent with a few children less than half your age may seem unappealing, but so many moments make it rewarding. For my fellow summer nannies out there, I know you can relate.

If it hurts now, it'll hurt again. Not because you're gullible or naive, only because you fall fast, hard, and you do it every time.

We fall each and every time with the complete and utter confidence that someone will be there to catch us. Now that person we SWORE we were never going to fall for has our hearts, and every time we see them our palms start sweating. The butterflies in our stomach start to soar and our hearts are entirely too close to bursting out of our chests.

Growing up I have always wanted to own a horse. My grandparents own a well known equestrian facility in Georgia, so I have been riding since I was born. A bond between a person and their horse is a bond so strong that it cannot be broken. Everywhere I went I wanted to be around horses, even forcing my family to go on trail rides during vacations. Horses have been a part of my life for as long as I can remember has taught me great responsibility, as well as 14 things that all equestrians can relate to.

College is super hard. Between working, studying, and having a social life, it feels like a struggle to just keep afloat.

I understand. When you feel like your drowning and there's no way to stay afloat I understand that it feels like everyone else is doing just fine. I understand all the frustration, long nights in the library, and that feeling that you want to just throw in the towel. I understand that sometimes it's too hard to get out of bed because your brain is already filled with too much information to remember. I understand because I am also feeling pretty burnt out.
