It's that time of year again!

Yes, the calendar says it's way past the official first day of autumn, but does it really feel like that time of the year to you? If these fifteen things sound right, welcome the fall season!

1. Bonfires!

Roasting marshmallows, singing songs, telling stories, the fact that you can set something on fire and it's socially acceptable...

2. Sweaters.

They're warm and soft. Basically a wearable hug.

3. Leaves.

Your footsteps crunch. It makes for a grand entrance... just never try to sneak up behind someone. It's not going to work.

4. Football???

Apparently, it's football season, or so I've been told. It sounds like a big deal. Sports fans, help me out here.

5. It's still dark when you leave for your 8 a.m. class.

Required class materials: a flashlight for the walk over.

6. And it's already dark at dinner time.

I'm not talking European dinner time. I'm talking "Grandma serves up the meatloaf at 5 p.m." dinner time.

7. The strong urge to hibernate.

Sleep forever. It's a-okay. Life is easier as a bear anyway. How else are you going to have a constant fabulous fur coat?

8. Candy corn.

You either love it or hate it. There's no in-between. But if you love it, you'd better stock up on it now!

9. Homecoming!

I'm still not sure what this is, to be honest. But everyone seems really excited about it, and I've heard there's food involved, so...

10. Pumpking spice. Everywhere.

A latte? Okay, fine. Enjoy the savory part of the season. No judgment there. But do we really need pumpkin spice deodorant?

11. Decoration diversity.

You will never see a Pilgrim posing next to a skeleton on the same fireplace mantle any other time of the year.

12. People are already trying to decorate for Christmas.

Speaking of decorations... Calm down, craft stores. Santa will get his time to shine soon enough. Chill on the garland and fake snow for a while would ya?

13. Halloween!

Costumes and free candy. Need I say more? (And no, I promise you're not too old to trick or treat. You do you. Capitalize on that candy.)

14. Elections.

It just gets crazier the closer we get. Log on to Facebook at your own risk.

15. That autumn vibe.

There's really no way to describe it. The air smells different. The sky is bluer. It's just autumn. You know it when you feel it!

In honor of Mother’s Day, I have been thinking of all the things my mom does for my family and me. Although I couldn’t write nearly all of them, here are a few things that moms do for us.

They find that shirt that’s right in front of you, but just you can’t seem to find.

10 Reasons To Thank Your Best Friend

Take the time to thank that one friend in your life you will never let go of.

Thank You on wooden blocks

1. Thank you for being the one I can always count on to be honest.

A true friend will tell you if the shirt is ugly, or at least ask to borrow it and "accidentally" burn it.

2. Thank you for accepting me for who I am.

A best friend will love you regardless of the stale french fries you left on the floor of your car, or when you had lice in 8th grade and no one wanted to talk to you.

Do as I say, not as I do.

Your eyes widen in horror as you stare at your phone. Beads of sweat begin to saturate your palm as your fingers tremble in fear. The illuminated screen reads, "Missed Call: Mom."

Growing up with strict parents, you learn that a few things go unsaid. Manners are everything. Never talk back. Do as you're told without question. Most importantly, you develop a system and catch on to these quirks that strict parents have so that you can play their game and do what you want.

"Friends" maybe didn’t have everything right or realistic all the time, but they did have enough episodes to create countless reaction GIFs and enough awesomeness to create, well, the legacy they did. Something else that is timeless, a little rough, but memorable? Living away from the comforts of home. Whether you have an apartment, a dorm, your first house, or some sort of residence that is not the house you grew up in, I’m sure you can relate to most of these!
