Recently at Pierce college, there’s this trend where I see lots of students, even teachers have these spinning toys or cubes that they called fidgeting toys. It sounds utterly useless and something that is wasteful to buy, until I have one and “fidget” the toy in my hand. I was blown away by the toys, they were really ADDICTIVE!!!
But why do we need a fidget toy? Well, let’s go back to Highschool, have you ever spin your pen or pencil so hard that it flew halfway across the room, shaking your leg so hard that it felt like you’re experiencing an earthquake, or losing track of what your teacher/professor teaching? Those bad habits of ours is a big distraction to what we’re trying to focus on, but fear not, it isn’t your fault that you have all these kind of actions, we fidget usually because they associate to anxiety and fear which cause your muscles to exert all of those activities. So having a toy to fidget in your hands not only helping you to focus on your studying or working, it also helps you to get rid off all of those bad habits for good. Here are some of the toys that I see work best for me while I’m in class:
Thanks to a company name Antsy Lab, they have created one of the most awesome fidgeting/ stress relieves toy ever. It’s a cube with six different functionality on each side.
Another fidget toy is a spinner, now I don’t know who was the original owner of the spinner but this is a kick-ass toy to have in your collection of fidget toys.
And the last is thinking putty, the company who’s responsible for this fascinating liquid/solid state toy is crazy Aaron’s Thinking Putty. These putties come in different colors and you can do whatever you want with it; you can knead, tear, roll, attract them with magnet, shine UV ray to glow, add gentle heat to change color, etc. Thinking putty also double as a squeezing ball for stress relieving.
