Without a doubt, this election is a polarizing one. I’m pretty sure that almost everyone is sick of all of the political posts on social media about each candidate. It feels as if everyday there is some new scandal or something that riles up the entire country. Personally, I say that we suspend this election and take a look at some of our options. So, I have compiled a list of people who I think would do a great job as president.

Disclaimer: This article is just humorous. Please, please, please, vote this November.

3. Michael Scott

I would be lying to you if I said I didn’t cry when Michael Scott made his exit from The Office. Without a doubt, Michael Scott is not only the best boss ever, but one of the best characters of our time. I believe that Michael Scott would be able to take his leadership skills out of Scranton and into the Oval Office, and be very successful at that. Hopefully, Dwight will be his VP as well as the rest of the cast would make an appearance in his cabinet.

2. Leslie Knope

Leslie Knope is a bit more qualified for the presidency because unlike Michael Scott, she has actual political experience. If Leslie was president, I believe that Waffle Day would be an actual National Holiday. Also, Leslie Knope would make a great president because she had to deal with so much nonsense in Pawnee for all of those years, I think taking on Congress and the rest of the country would be a piece of cake for her.

1. Francis Underwood

Anyone who Watches House of Cards knows that Francis Underwood would make just as good of a president as any realistic person running today. Underwood has not only the experience, but the power to whip this country into shape. Being a southern Democrat, Underwood would bring a certain je ne sais quoi to our country. I could easily see him meeting with the Queen of England for some afternoon tea and being a host for SNL by night.

Honorable Mention - Jon Snow

KING OF THE NORTH! KING OF THE NORTH! KING OF THE NORTH!

Our favorite bastard, Jon Snow, has overcome so much in the last several seasons of Game of Thrones. From being basically the awkward child that didn’t quite fit in, to defeating everyone’s least favorite bastard, Ramsay Bolton, Jon Snow has come a long way. Being (probably) half Targaryen and half Stark, Jon Snow has the best genes out of any other character on the show. Let’s ship Jon Snow out of Winterfell and to the capitol ASAP!

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Bonus points if it is more than two.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

As an English Major in college, I have a lot of writing and especially creative writing pieces that I work on throughout the semester and sometimes, I'll find it hard to get the motivation to type a few pages and the thought process that goes behind it. These are eleven thoughts that I have as a writer while writing my stories.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
