As the presidential election heats up, I think it's safe to say there's tons of controversy surrounding all of the candidates. While you're trying to decide who to vote (or not to vote) for, I've composed a list of some fictional characters I believe would make great presidential candidates.

Leslie Knope - Parks and Recreation

As the Deputy Director of the Pawnee City Department of Parks and Recreation, she worked hard to improve her beloved hometown. She is a natural born leader and eventually left the Parks and Recreation Department to become a city council woman. Leslie’s ultimate goal is to become the first female President of the United States. She loves America almost as much as she loves Joe Biden.

Jim Halpert - The Office

Jim’s planning of elaborate pranks shows his ability to think on his feet. During his time at Dunder Mifflin, he always had something in store for Dwight. He worked as a sales associate and quickly rose through the ranks and became Assistant Regional Manager.

Callie Adams Foster - The Fosters

When it comes to fighting for what’s right, Callie is always the first to do so. Anytime she sees actions she doesn’t agree with, she is always there to defend whomever is being wronged. As a former foster child herself, Callie has dedicated much of her young life to educating people about the foster system and improving it.

Marshall Eriksen - How I Met Your Mother

Marshall is extremely kind and compassionate. He started as a corporate lawyer but eventually quits his job in order to pursue a career in environmental law. He seeks to make the world a better place.

Miranda Bailey - Grey's Anatomy

As a general surgeon, Miranda has seen it all. She knows how to remain calm and act quickly in hectic situations. She’s extremely tough but knows how to guide her peers to get the best outcome possible.

Brooke Davis - One Tree Hill

One Tree Hill’s Brooke Davis is a natural born leader. In high school, she served as student body president and cheerleading captain. At a young age, she started her own clothing line, “Clothes Over Bro’s” and established herself as a successful fashion designer and business owner

Sandy Cohen - The O.C.

Sandy fights for the people. He worked as a public defender and took on some very difficult cases. He is a very caring man and even ends up taking some of his work home with him and becomes the legal guardian of Ryan Atwood. Sandy guides Ryan and his own biological son Seth through life by giving them fatherly and legal advice. In later years, Sandy left his job as a public defender to become a professor of law.

Hershel Greene - The Walking Dead

In a world ridden with zombies, it can be difficult to think straight. Even in stressful situations, Hershel always manages to lead the group to safety and make smart decisions.

Monica Geller - Friends

Monica is the mother of her group. She is constantly looking out for them and making sure they’re making good choices. Her obsessive cleanliness and organizational skills prove that she would have no trouble running the country and keeping everything orderly.

Schmidt - New Girl

Schmidt is a natural people pleaser. He has a desire to be liked by everyone. He even (almost) successfully pretended to be a Romney in order to win a woman’s approval.

Brick Heck - The Middle

Even though he’s the youngest on this list, Brick is probably one of the smartest. He has been doing his older brother’s homework since he learned to read, showing he is wise beyond his years. He’s read thousands of books and has an impeccable memory which allows him to always remember what he reads.

If it hurts now, it'll hurt again. Not because you're gullible or naive, only because you fall fast, hard, and you do it every time.

We fall each and every time with the complete and utter confidence that someone will be there to catch us. Now that person we SWORE we were never going to fall for has our hearts, and every time we see them our palms start sweating. The butterflies in our stomach start to soar and our hearts are entirely too close to bursting out of our chests.

Yes, it IS a sport. Yes, I fall all the time. No, I do not ride in jeans with a cowgirl hat on.

Growing up I have always wanted to own a horse. My grandparents own a well known equestrian facility in Georgia, so I have been riding since I was born. A bond between a person and their horse is a bond so strong that it cannot be broken. Everywhere I went I wanted to be around horses, even forcing my family to go on trail rides during vacations. Horses have been a part of my life for as long as I can remember has taught me great responsibility, as well as 14 things that all equestrians can relate to.

College is super hard. Between working, studying, and having a social life, it feels like a struggle to just keep afloat.

I understand. When you feel like your drowning and there's no way to stay afloat I understand that it feels like everyone else is doing just fine. I understand all the frustration, long nights in the library, and that feeling that you want to just throw in the towel. I understand that sometimes it's too hard to get out of bed because your brain is already filled with too much information to remember. I understand because I am also feeling pretty burnt out.

No Matter How Challenging School Gets, You Have To Put Your Health First — A Degree Won't Mean Anything If You're Dead

Some of the best advice I've ever received was from my social studies teacher in sophomore year of high school. He stated, "If you don't know it at midnight, you're not going to know it for the 8 a.m. exam, so get some sleep."

It's such a simple piece of advice, but it holds so much accuracy and it's something that the majority of college students need to hear and listen to. "All-nighters" are a commonality on college campuses in order to cram in studying for an exam that is typically the next day.
