After a long day of walking around Las Vegas with 105-degree heat beating down on my face, I was happy to be sitting in my hotel room with my family. I knew I was hot, but instead of sweating, I had chills up my back. I knew that it was heatstroke. As we sat in the coolness of the hotel room, I made sure to drink as much water as I possibly could. As we sat, we took turns in the shower to cool off and clean up for the show that we would be going to in less than an hour.

I had been waiting for that show since April. I had bought the tickets for everyone in the family and at the time, I had had the money to get myself as well as my sister VIP tickets. We had been extremely excited upon finding out about the show and the tickets had been bought the next night. We were going to meet the two time America's Got Talent winner, Shin Lim, and the season 12 semi-finalist, Colin Cloud.

Finally, it was time for us to hop on the shuttle to the Fashion Show Mall. From the mall, we walked to the Mirage Hotel and Casino. The walk hadn't been that bad, as the sun was starting to set. Despite feeling like it was cooling down, it hadn't cooled down much. By the time we got inside, I was starting to get a headache. I really hoped that it wouldn't get in the way of my enjoyment of the show and the meet and greet that we were going to get to go to afterward.

We got inside and quickly walked back to the Terry Fator Theater. We stepped up to the Box Office, which had just opened, so that we could get our two VIP passes and then we walked over to where we would be able to go into the theater. We were some of the only people there and we wouldn't be able to be seated for another hour, but we saw that the table for merch sales was just about to open. We took a quick walk through some of the hotel shops before going back so my sister and I could get both sets of Shin's Regalia card decks as well as a Regalia logo shirt for me.

After the show, we were shown to the room where the meet and greet would take place. My sister and I were both super excited. She was gripping her two watercolor paintings tightly in her hands while I gripped my new Regalia deck. My mouth was dry and I could hardly hold back a squeal when we were told that Shin and Colin were close. A few minutes later, they walked in and the line slowly started moving. Soon, it was my sister's turn. I was stood close behind her since we wanted to get pictures together, but before that, she held out her pictures to have them signed. They freaked out after seeing the pictures. They signed them while insisting that she should be the one signing them and they took pictures with her 'for their selfish reasons'. I could help, but smile at how happy my little sister looked. It was rare that I got to see her so happy. We took our pictures (with Shin's puppy, Natsu, too) and I got my deck signed before we quickly left to squeal over how amazing that moment had been.

Being a part of any organization undoubtedly comes with the pitfalls of being grouped into negative stereotypes, and sororities are certainly no exception. Here are the top few things, that I find at least, are some of the most irritating misconceptions that find their way into numerous conversations...

8. "The whole philanthropy thing isn't real, right?"

Well all those fundraisers and marketing should would be a waste then wouldn't they?

11 Things Summer Nannies Can Relate To

There are plenty of obstacles that come when taking care of kids, but it's a very rewarding experience.

As a college student, being a nanny over the summer is both enjoyable and challenging. Underneath the seemingly perfect trips to the pool or countless hours spent playing Monopoly are the obstacles that only nannies will understand. Trading in your valuable summer vacation in return for three months spent with a few children less than half your age may seem unappealing, but so many moments make it rewarding. For my fellow summer nannies out there, I know you can relate.

There are a lot of really easy, common names in the U.S. and while many of those simple names have different spellings, most of the time, pronunciation is not an issue that those people need to worry about. However, others are not as fortunate and often times give up on corrections after a while. We usually give an A+ for effort. So, as you could probably imagine, there are a few struggles with having a name that isn’t technically English. Here are just a few…
