The First Week Back At FGCU As Told By 16 Vines, AKA 96 Seconds Of Pure Laughter

In This Article:

Junior year has snuck up on me, I'm pretty sure I should still be in fifth grade. A lot has changed since my freshman year, I've moved from dorms to a house, got more tattoos and overall have become a better person. However, one thing hasn't changed, I still love vine. I even had to get a meme jar (A jar I put money in every time I quote a meme) just to curb my meme enthusiasm. I have decided to channel this meme energy into something productive.

1. The horrible parking.

Road workahead, uh, I sure wish it did. Not here at FGCU who may have 700 acres, but has absolutely no parking.

2. How I felt on the second day.

I was already behind. I tried to start strong, I even bought a planner. It has gone untouched and I already am waiting for Christmas break.

3. Me when a professor assigns homework during syllabus week.

What kind of evil person assigns homework the first week back. Relax satan please.

4. When Florida's hurricane season saves you from two weeks of classes.

Thanks, Irma!

5. When teachers randomly call on you in class.

No, ma'am, I can't tell you the square root of pi because you haven't taught us that yet!

6. When you guess an answer but are wrong.

It's the first week back I can't be expected to get right answers.

7. When you see all the incoming freshmen.

I mean I wouldn't call freshmen chickens, but they are scared of college so is it that far off?

8. When you and you new roommates actually get along.

This will only last for three days and then the drama will commence.

9. The night before you start classes again.

This moment usually happens right before I fall asleep, the night before my first class.

10. When you're already tired of campus dining, and treat yo self to Chipotle.

If 'potle isn't your life, what is? (P.S. THEY'RE NOW OPEN UNTIL 11)

11. When your math teacher comes around to check your work.

Um, yes, professor, you taught us this ten minutes ago at supersonic speed. When's drop date again?

12. When its only your second day of classes but you're ready to drop out.

A lot of students will say they're dropping out to be a stripper, but I'd rather be a dog. WOOF.

13. Why?

I have no particular scenario for this vine, it just pops in my head every time something bad happens to me.

14. Me after my first day.

I won't even mention the number of cars I asked to hit me.

15. When you see old friends and have to recap your recent events.

16. When your teacher wants you to introduce yourself.

"Hi, please say your name, major, a cool fact about you, your mothers maiden name, blood type, social security, first pet, shower time, Adderall, a glass of whiskey, and diesel jeans.

And finally, I leave you with a parting gift, vines that will cure depression. Enjoy school, and if you go to FGCU, then Good Luck Charlie.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.

December... it's full of finals, due dates, Mariah Carey, and the holidays. It's the worst time of the year, but the best because after finals, you get to not think about classes for a month and catch up on all the sleep you lost throughout the semester. But what's worse than finals week is the last week of classes, when all the due dates you've put off can no longer be put off anymore.

Thanksgiving break is over and Christmas is just around the corner and that means, for most college students, one hellish thing — finals week. It's the one time of year in which the library becomes over populated and mental breakdowns are most frequent. There is no way to avoid it or a cure for the pain that it brings. All we can do is hunker down with our books, order some Dominos, and pray that it will all be over soon. Luckily, we are not alone in this suffering. To prove it, here are just a few of the many deranged thoughts that go through a college student's mind during finals week.

I know every college student has daily thoughts throughout their day. Whether you're walking on campus or attending class, we always have thoughts running a mile a minute through our heads. We may be wondering why we even showed up to class because we'd rather be sleeping, or when the professor announces that we have a test and you have an immediate panic attack.
