A few words to my hair;
Hey there, I know you're in need of care.
I'm sorry you're a little worst for wear.
You see everyone else had straight silky locks with length, and there I was .... With kinky curly tresses much to my own distress but, I digress.
I'd been neglectful, cranking up the heat to tame the "frizzy" mane that I had viewed as my hair.
But forgetting that stress on anything can take a toll.
I was killing you, harshly with no remorse because I was so concerned with what I didn't have, that I forgot to explore what was mine to begin with.
So let's start over, let's deep condition to reach a deeper connection because I'm ready to learn. I'm looking through new eyes and I see the fabulous follicles now.
The frizzes I used to see now don't represent faulty follicles, but a reminder that a satin pillowcase is a must.
I've grown into my curl pattern, which is unique to me and can only be imitated, not duplicated.
I've learned to except each bad hair day because I know 3 great hair days are sure to follow.
Sincerely, a reformed straightener
