The infamous Spring Break is back. The week where people let loose and get wasted for an entire week in either Florida or Mexico. They try to forget their troubles and are able to take a small break from the stress of college life. But there are those--myself included--who are not going anywhere for Spring Break. We either don't have the money, need to work, or just want to relax and not worry about traveling and packing. To those of you, I have a few tips or plans to help make your spring break a success.

1. Just relax and watch Netflix or read a book.

Now I know most of us do this during the school year as a break from classes, but sometimes there is that one show you keep putting off because you do not have time to invest. Well now is the time. Take the week off and just binge watch your favorite show. Or--for my book worms out there like me--curl up with a good book that you have been dying to read. Sometimes we get so bogged down with readings for classes that we do not have time to read for pleasure. Spring Break is the perfect time to begin reading a new book. Trust me we all need it with midterms behind us and only a few more weeks until summer. Decompressing is almost just as important as working hard.

2. Find time for yourself.

This may be one of the most important on the list. We are so caught up in the hustle and bustle of the school year that we forget to take care of ourselves. Over spring break, treat yourself. Get your nails done, go to the gym, go out to your favorite restaurant, go see the movie you have been dying to see, and more. Try to take time to do things that you enjoy as to remind yourself that you are important, because sometimes school needs to take the back burner every now and then.

3. Spend time with friends and family.

Nothing is better than coming home from college and finally having a home-cooked meal from your parents. In college, most of us live off of the crappy cafeteria food, ramen, or mac and cheese. When we come home it’s nice to have someone cook for us, do our laundry, and just spend quality time with. You never truly realize how much your take your parents for granted until you are away at school for a while. Spending time with family always helps make you feel better and helps to de-stress your life.

4. Try to spend time working out.

This seems somewhat contradictory to the previous few tips, but working out is very beneficial. By working out, you can increase your endorphins, feel better, and still maintain somewhat of an organized regime while on Spring Break. Sometimes it’s hard to switch gears from school mode to break mode, so it’s nice to have something on your schedule that stimulates the mind and body.

5. Get as much sleep as possible.

During the school year most of us are sleep deprived. We are struggling trying to balance a job, a full course load, extracurriculars, and a social life all at the same time. We try to do the impossible, and by doing so we sacrifice one precious thing: sleep. So on your Spring Break try and relax when you can and get 8-9 hours of sleep every night. It will help you feel revitalized and ready to tackle heading back to school after the week is over.

In case you're unaware, "resting bitch face" is the term used to describe when a person's natural, expressionless face makes it look like they are mad at the world. Whether they are walking down the street or simply spacing out thinking about what to eat for dinner, it's very easy for others to assume that this person is either upset or mad at them. Because of this, those of us with Resting Bitch Face (RBF), and especially us women, have all experienced many of the same situations and conversations, including:

We've all had a crush before. Whether it leads to something or nothing, the process has all been the same. The awkward feelings, the stalking, and the stress of trying to keep this huge secret. The feeling of becoming a total spazz is something that cannot be avoided, and the most spazzy family that can relate to this feeling is the Belcher's.

At the tender age of 18, we are bestowed with the title of “adult.” For 17 years, we live under the rules and guidelines of our parents, school, and government, and to stray from any of those rules or guidelines marks us as a rebel. At 18, though, we must choose which college we want to go to or what career we want. We are allowed and encouraged to vote. We can buy lottery tickets and cigarettes. We can drop out of school, leave our household, and do other "adult" things. At 18, we start down a path of thinking for ourselves, when for the entirety of our lives other institutions have been mandated to think and do for us.

Creating your schedule for the upcoming semester can be an exciting process. You have the control to decide if you want to have class two-days a week or five-days a week. You get to check things off of your requirement checklist. It's an opportunity for a fresh start with new classes (which you tell yourself you'll never skip.) This process, which always starts out so optimistic, can get frustrating really quickly. Here are 25 thoughts you have when registering for classes.

What about those of us who don't do it all in four years?

"College will be the best four years of your life" is a phrase that we have all heard growing up. College is painted as a magical place to us while we are in high school. A place you go to learn, meet your best friends and probably have the time of your life while all of this is going down. Four whirlwind years, where everything that you've known changes and you start to learn what it means to live on your own, have a job, etc. But what about those of us who don't do this all in four years? Major changes, hard courses, switching schools, career paths changing, these are just a handful of factors that could extend your four years to five, six or seven. There is nothing wrong with taking extra time to graduate, but returning as a fifth-year is a little different. Most of your best friends have most likely graduated and moved and while you may be one of the oldest undergraduates on campus, you might feel as awkward as a freshmen. A world that became home and comfortable to you is still there but it's slightly different than you've known it to be and you have to find a groove to fall into. These are thoughts you'll have as you look ahead to returning to your college campus, with a victory lap planned.
