Over the course of my school career (that is K-12) I was told many things about college life. Here is a list of things that all kids are told about college and whether they're true or not.
1. Nobody cares if you pass
This is not true. Over and over again I was told that college professors don't care whether or not you pass or fail. However, over and over again this has been proven wrong. Every single professor that I have had for an instructor cares extremely whether or not I pass. They do everything they can and make sure you have the tools you need to succeed.
2. Study, Study, Study
As much as I hate to admit it, this is true. Even though its not my favorite thing to do, it has to be done. Studying in college is highly important and is vital to doing well. Reading your textbook, reviewing notes, and powerpoints are all important to doing well.
3. Go to class (and pay attention too)
I know its kind of a cliche, however, this is also very important. You can't take notes if you don't go to class and pay attention. Also, the simple act of listening to the information increases the chance that you'll remember it come test time.
