Elizabeth Tudor and her cousin, Mary, Queen of Scots have always had their place in history... a history that was filled with anger and strife. Here is a poem that I wrote about that feud. I hope you enjoy it.
The Red Rose and the White
Two roses
One red, one white
In a garden entwine like snakes
The red has long, thick thorns
The white has none
The red is cousin to the white,
Who is innocent and true.
The red overtakes the white
For she wears a crown of diamonds
Thorns appear upon the white
But she cannot protect herself
For the red is a Tudor
The white is a Stuart.
The white bleeds liquid scarlet
And steeps the soil beneath with thick drops
As the red smiles.
