The word Feminism is defined as, the advocacy of women's rights on the basis of the equality of the sexes.
A feminist can be anyone. Regardless of religion, race, sexuality, gender or appearance. It's as simple as that, being a feminist means that you believe in equal rights for all genders, and not that one gender is superior to the other. Many are under the impression that being a feminist means that you must "hate men", which defeats the purpose of feminism. Women and men were created as equals, and therefore deserve the same rights. To be treated as equals, payed equally and respected as equals.
Being a feminist does mean you are excluded because of the way you look, some are empowered by their modesty and some feel empowered by expressing their sexuality. Either way, feminists respect that. And they empower each others choices. It all comes down to supporting those around you. Being a feminist also means that you are supportive of those with disabilities and never forgetting their struggles.
Being a feminist does not mean you are excluded because of your race. But being a feminist does include you supporting women of all races, and keeping in mind their struggles.
Being a feminist does not mean that you are excluded because of your size. As society progresses, women of all sizes are being included in fashion, movies and TV shows. And aside from those advances in society, its important to accept women of all sizes wherever you go.
Feminism isn't a cause fought with witty t-shirts or lengthy passive-aggressive tweets. Feminists take action, and are firm-believers in equality.
Feminism is not a "one size fits all" label. Every one is going through their own struggle, and being a feminist means that you support those struggles and will fight alongside women and men.
A feminist can look like anyone. But no matter what a feminist looks like, they believe in equal rights for everyone.
