The definition of feminism is, "The advocacy of women's rights on the grounds of political, social and economic equality to men." While I can easily say I agree to this definition I do have an issue with the extreme feminists out there in today's society.
Yes, males and females should be equally paid and have the same perks in life; it is 2016, after all. However, I can't help but notice on my social media accounts how people (mainly female) are posting statuses and pictures of how men suck and a woman can handle any job a man can. I disagree. Being a female myself, I know when to admit I need help. Sometimes you need a man to lift the heavy box for you. Call me crazy but I still want a guy to hold the door open for me and pay for the dinner. Not to mention -- to all you "feminists" out there -- we need men to reproduce if we want to. Radical feminists have a reputation of being extreme and refusing to be open-minded. Most of the feminists on my social media platforms are Hillary Clinton supporters just because of the sheer fact that she is female. I believe that a feminist should support equal rights but at the same time own up when a male is in the right.
I'm going to list a few quotes from some "feminists" below. I just want you to analyze them:
"The proportion of men must be reduced to and maintained at approximately 10% of the human race." - Sally Miller Gearhart
"Marriage as an institution developed from rape as a practice." - Andrea Dworkin
"I want to see a man beaten to a bloody pulp with a high-heel shoved in his mouth, like an apple in the mouth of a pig." - Andrea Dworkin
Those quotes don't shout equality or justice. Instead it proposes that men ultimately should be eliminated from the world. Men are portrayed as sadistic rapists whereas a woman has no choice in her life and needs to beat her man in order to escape. These extreme feminists are setting a bad example for the younger generations. I don't believe shaming a man or being violent is the way to show people that females need equal rights. At the end of the day, these feminists are no better than the men who degraded them.
