Yes, I Am A TomBoy But I Also Wear Lipstick

I'm that crazy girl who can fix stuff around the house and also wear my signature red lipstick. There still is a stigma surrounding my generation that they don't know how to do simple repairs around the house. Recently, I decided to try on a new color of lipstick. The lipstick felt good that I was doing housework and some repairs in dark green lipstick with no other makeup on. A simple thing as putting on a bold lipstick can make you feel so empowered. I would imagine that it's the same for men when they find a new cologne or aftershave. It doesn't matter what you do; you should never be judged for what you want to know or know.

I will admit that I would walk barefoot around my neighborhood and wear male clothing because it is more comfortable then female clothing. Does it look like I've given up on life? To some, yes, to others, they don't care. If I need a pick-me-up, I will go put on a bold lipstick and do a colorful makeup look while wearing basketball shorts and a T-shirt. To be honest, I don't care what people think. I'll rock a manicure and pedicure while wearing male gym clothing and male flipflops. It sucks that male clothes are made to be comfortable, while female clothes are made to be sexualized.

I find that it's interesting to be a feminist and be married to a man. Mind you, my husband is fantastic and sometimes doesn't allow me to do things, so he could take care of it himself. I would get annoyed, but something we have to learn to share the responsibility. It's not a blow to my feminist outlook, but it's okay if your significant other wants to do something for you whether they are female or male. Feminists who look down upon this aren't true feminists. True feminists believe that other women have a choice to allow their S.O's to do some work. Feminism is about CHOICE and I will wear my weird lipstick while doing chores.

The fact that we have a balance of masculine and feminine features within us should tell us something. There is such a thing as toxic masculinity and toxic feminity. There is a saying " too much of one thing is bad" and that applies to both terms. We talk about toxic masculinity, but never about the other side. Toxic feminity can truly take a toll on some aspects of society as well. We should take care and look out for that as well.

Stereotypes are there for a reason, but it shouldn't extend to a whole group of people. The fact that there are still some beliefs that women should only do a select amount of task is ridiculous. I know some females that can outlift some males. It truly is about the skill set and physical talents. Funny, I'm not a Republican, but I love Sarah Palin's saying of " read my lipstick". The phrase can be used to promote female empowerment. I will say that women have loads more rights then we used to, but there are still some things that need to be fixed in our system.

If I have learned one thing in my lifetime, it is that friends are a privilege. No one is required to give you their company and yet there is some sort of shared connection that keeps you together. And from that friendship, you may even find yourself lucky enough to have a few more friends, thus forming a group. Here are just a few signs that prove your current friend group is the ultimate friend group.

When it comes to television, there’s very few sets of on-screen siblings that a lot of us can relate to. Only those who have grown up with siblings knows what it feels like to fight, prank, and love a sibling. Ross and Monica Geller were definitely overbearing and overshared some things through the series of "Friends," but they captured perfectly what real siblings feel in real life. Some of their antics were funny, some were a little weird but all of them are completely relatable to brothers and sisters everywhere.

College is a great place to meet people, especially through Greek life. If you look closely at sororities, you'll quickly see there are many different types of girls you will meet.

1. The Legacy.

Her sister was a member, her mom was a member, all of her aunts were members, and her grandma was a member. She has been waiting her whole life to wear these letters and cried hysterically on bid day. Although she can act entitled at times, you can bet she is one of the most enthusiastic sisters.

Every kid in college and/or high school dreams of summer the moment they walk through the door on the first day back in September. It becomes harder and harder to focus in classes and while doing assignments as the days get closer. The winter has been lagging, the days are short and dark, and no one is quite themselves due to lack of energy and sunlight. Let's face it: life is ten times better in the summertime.
