Have you had a bad day? Do you feel like you're never going to achieve your dream? Are you close to giving up? Being a woman in this day and age is quite difficult, from dealing with sexism, the gender wage gap and so much other bull-crap.
These movies are all able to pick me back up after a long day of getting pushed around. They inspire me to put my big girl pants on and deal with the crap and do my best to change the world.
1. The Help
Aibleen is the housekeeper and caretaker of the Leefolt family. She takes care of their youngest daughter, whom she refers to as "Baby Girl," and always makes sure she knows she is valued. The other female characters in the movie are all very strong and ready to make a change in their lives.
2. Matilda
This childhood classic is all about young Matilda Wormwood, who isn't understood by her parents because is so different from them. She likes to read, while they like to watch TV. While attending her elementary school, she meets Ms. Honey (pictured above), who is so taken with Matilda and her brilliant mind. Both Matilda and Ms. Honey work together to find what they are missing in their lives.
3. A League Of Their Own
This movie tells a fictionalized story about the All-American Girls Professional Baseball League. All the women must work together to prove that just because they are women doesn't mean they can't play some intense baseball. They become lifelong friends and are empowered by each other to fight for their rights.
4. First Wives Club
Based on the book by the same name by Olivia Goldsmith, these three friends forever must learn how to cope with their divorces. Each woman has her own issues that she is dealing with and must rise above them to become a strong, independent woman who DON'T NEED no husband.
5. She's The Man
Inspired by Shakespeare's "Twelfth Night," this movie centers on Viola Hastings and her twin brother, Sebastian, and their switcheroo plan at Sebastian's new school. Viola's goal is to prove that she is just as great at soccer as any man and will not stop until she achieves this goal. Her hilarious antics show how far she is willing to go for this opportunity.
6. Mulan
The most bada** Disney princess to date, Mulan is willing to risk her life to save her father from having to go into the military. It is a challenging task, as Mulan must go through strenuous training, fight the Huns and pretend to be a man for a long period of time. She is smart, witty and altogether a complete package warrior, and I love her.
7. Whip It
Directed by the awesome Drew Barrymore, "Whip It" is about Bliss Cavendar, who is trying to steer clear of her mother's obsession with beauty pageants and the "right role of women." She stumbles across a tryout for a roller derby team and falls in love with the sportsmanship and pure angst of the game. She stands up herself and becomes who she really is.

I hope that these movies can pull you out from under your blanket of sadness and inspire you to rise up and fight the power!
