If you haven’t been following, Brendon Urie has been leaving Twitter, Instagram and even Facebook users SHOOK for the last few weeks.
Fans have been receiving bottles of “UnHoly water” which contained a phrase “Pray For the Wicked.”
Members of Brendon’s team, including his wife, Sarah and even Brendon himself were posting cryptic messages having to do with March 19th and March 21st. But, everyone soon found out that “3:19” meant a surprise pop-up show that was held at the Grog Shop in Cleveland, Ohio. Only approximately 300 people were let in and it was a very intimate show.
At the show, fans were able to buy t-shirts that had other dates scribbled out, indicating that there will either be more pop-up shows around the country, or an album, as some fans have conspired.
But, the one thing that left me personally blown away was the fact that Panic! At the Disco has a FEMALE bassist, and this is exactly what we need in the music industry.
Her name is Nicole Row and has shared the stage with numerous famous acts including Billy Ray Cyrus, Miley Cyrus, Troye Sivan, and now, more recently, Panic! At The Disco.
It’s well-known that the music industry hasn’t exactly been “balanced” with both females and males, with festivals like Warped Tour even being mostly male dominated, but there have been very successful bands with female members like Paramore, The Summer Set, New Year’s Day, Hey Monday and many others, although Hey Monday is no longer a band.
Seeing Nicole as a bassist for a well-known band such as Panic! Makes me excited for the future because I know that other females will be inspired by that - even if they don’t play any musical instruments.
It can inspire girls everywhere and get them pumped up knowing that they can be successful in any industry they want to go into whether it is male-dominated or not.
Personally, I am not in the music industry, although I would like to be reporter in the industry someday, but seeing pictures of Nicole performing on stage with Panic! Confirmed my beliefs that I can go into any industry that I want and that it doesn’t matter who I am or where I came from.
I can’t wait to see Nicole perform with Panic! In person whenever they tour again because I haven’t seen many bands that have female members and I enjoy seeing them because of the empowerment it can give to other people.
I hope that seeing Nicole on stage will inspire other girls as it has inspired me. Seeing females in an industry that is usually male dominated can be inspiring and can let people know that they can truly do anything as long as they have the motivation or desire to, and seeing Nicole on stage with a band that I love so much has given me the motivation to work hard and push myself to get into the music industry as a reporter.
