I'm A Female And I'm Not Offended By This Election
Huffington Post

I am a female millennial and I am not offended over this election. I recently read an article about how America has failed females. The article expresses how "racism and sexism continue to be horrific motivating forces for tens of millions of Americans." The reality is that America was simply not ready for a female president. Another reality is that racism and sexism are always going to be part of this world. Notice how I said the word world. I use this noun, instead of country, because this issue is something that is, always has been, and always will be, a matter of contention. It does not matter if the president of the United States of America is Black, White, Hispanic, male, or female, the controversy will forever stand. It is psychology. It is how our human brains are wired, and no feministic, male hating, sisterhood of the traveling pants, human being will change that. I am a female millennial and I am not offended over this election.

I am a female millennial and I am not offended over this election. This country is not saying that women are not good enough, or not as smart, or not as hardworking. I do not feel like I am limited or in danger due to Donald Trump being president. We as Americans, did our civic duty, like those hundreds of years before us, to vote in who we perceived best for this position. A woman who lied about some serious issues, or a man who has no political experience, there was no clear 'good choice' in this situation. But, as I said, we as Americans did what those founding fathers wanted us to do hundreds of years ago. We exercised our right to vote, so how could I be offended about that? I am a female millennial and I am not offended over this election.

I am a female millennial and I am not offended over this election. Is it because I am a woman that I am expected to vote for a female president? Because that is just as sexist as men not wanting to vote for a female president. I am all for equal pay, equality in the workforce, blah blah blah. I am not a feminist, I'm just an American who expects what I am entitled to as much as the next dude. This country was not ready for a female president. It is as simple as that. Just because I am a female, I will not use that as the sole purpose for my decision on who to elect as a leader for our country. Donald Trump being another male who leads this country does not offend me in any way. Him groping some chicks does not offend me. Maybe I am bad at being a female. Or maybe I just understand the way the world works, and it doesn't bother me. Either way, I am a female millennial and I am not offended over this election.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
