In the last week, my professor told me to be open. He actually ended our conversation with this piece of advice that actually translated into a reminder. Here is why this reminder came at the right time.

Being reminded how my college years are the best time to be open minded was the best advice and motivator any professor has given me in a long time. With everything that went on in the last two weeks, it really had my mind going a mile a minute. It was one of those spiral of events that could not let me get in a minute for myself. Let me tell you, however, that your faith (whatever that may be) has a plan for you. Here are some personal moments that I had in the past five days to represent how new relationships and objects can result in an even deeper mindset.

First being introduced to the Bible. This article is not centered around proclaiming my faith on anyone, but to mainly state what I have taken away from this experience. The Bible has not always been an ideal source that I have turned to my whole entire life, especially my childhood. However, I have recently been introduced to it. I can honestly say this specific encounter could not have come at a more perfect time.

Reading this source allowed me to take a breather when I felt that the world was crumbling in my hands. It also gave me the opportunity to center in on what was truly important to me in terms of relationships since new friendships were made in the process.

Along with being open to new people, my mind was open to reading every one of those amazing words that makes up the Bible. They came together in a way that instantly resonated with me. It was meaningful, and at the same time touched upon specific key elements that makes a human's overall journey so special.

Something special that came from this is how I am allowing the higher power to take the lead.

Whether that may be in the form of creating new relationships or allowing me to further dive into the depths of the true meaning of spirituality, I am ready to make yet another one of my college-year-chapters an impactful one.

Friendship. It's defined as the state of being attached to another person by feelings of affection or personal regard, but what really is friendship? Is it that occasional hallway talk with that one person who always manages to cheer you up? Is it that relationship you have with someone where they can be gone for a long period of time, but when they come back, it's like they never left? Is it spending every waking hour with someone, and knowing every detail about their life? Is it the relationship that's filled with fighting, but filled with even more resolution? I've learned that it's all of these things, and every friendship is different. It's a beautifully dysfunctional mess that should always be cherished and never be taken for granted.
