I Fell In Love With Psychology What will You Choose?

You know how during your junior year in high school everyone starts asking you what your major will be in college. Well, I knew mine right off of the bat, Psychology. The thing was, I wanted to do something with the government having to do with criminals. So then people started to confuse me and I mistakenly started off my first year of college majoring in Sociology. Well shortly into my second semester I realized that I was most definitely in the wrong major. I wanted to know about people's brains and how mental processes connect to crimes, not the influence on the society. So, what did I do? I changed to Psychology and it was the best decision I could have ever made.

I could instantly tell my love for the major with the first classes I took. The work seemed almost effortless to me. Yes, I actually enjoyed writing those APA papers and doing the research needed to pass the classes. It also helps with the fact that the Psychology staff here at Lander University are beyond great professors and easy and fun to work with! Another thing that really helps is the fact that the other people in my major are just as excited about it and we connect well with one another. There's nothing like the feeling of knowing you belong somewhere simply by having a five-minute conversation with the student sitting next to you.

Now I know many people are probably wondering what I could possibly be planning to do with a degree in Psychology. Well, I'm actually minoring in Criminal Justice as well. What does that have to do with anything? Well, the combination of my education will allow me to qualify for jobs within the government such as working with the BAU as a criminal profiler. Of course, I'll need to further my education first, which I do indeed plan on getting my doctorates degree.

The purpose of me telling you all of this, is I'm hoping that you either will feel the same way about your major or that if you are still considering one, you will choose Psychology! When you make your choice of what you want to major in, make sure you pick something that your gonna fall in love with!

So while we approach the greatest time of the year, let's watch the 15 best Christmas movies of all time.

6 Signs You Are An English Major

There are various stereotypes about college students, most of which revolve around the concept of your major. Unfortunately, we often let stereotypes precede our own judgments, and we take what information is immediately available to us rather than forming our own opinions after considerable reflection. If I got a dollar for every time my friends have made a joke about my major I could pay my tuition. One stereotype on campus is the sensitive, overly critical and rigid English major. Here are six telltale signs you are one of them.

27 Things 'The Office' Has Taught Us

"The Office" is a mockumentary based on everyday office life featuring love triangles, silly pranks and everything in between. It can get pretty crazy for just an average day at the office.

When you were little, your parents probably told you television makes your brain rot so you wouldn't watch it for twelve straight hours. However, I feel we can learn some pretty valuable stuff from television shows. "The Office," while a comedy, has some pretty teachable moments thrown in there. You may not know how to react in a situation where a co-worker does something crazy (like put your office supplies in jello) but thanks to "The Office," now you'll have an idea how to behave ifsomething like that should happen.

Here are just a few of the things that religious Office watchers can expect to learn.

Being pre-med is quite a journey. It’s not easy juggling school work, extracurricular activities, volunteering, shadowing, research, and MCAT prep all at the same time. High School And College Sucked All Of The Fun Out Of Reading

Books were always about understanding for me, about learning the way someone else sees, about connection.

High School And College Sucked All Of The Fun Out Of Reading

I keep making this joke whenever the idea of books is brought up: "God, I wish I knew how to read." It runs parallel to another stupid phrase, as I watch my friends struggle through their calculus classes late at night in our floor lounge: "I hope this is the year that I learn to count." They're both truly idiotic expressions, but, when I consider the former, I sometimes wonder if there's some truth to it.
