Feelings We Have When Trying To Workout In The Summer

Working out is hard to get the motivation to do ever...it's even harder when it's burning hot outside.

Summer is that time when everyone is obsessed with trying to get and maintain a "bikini body." Students finally have time to workout since they aren't overwhelmed with classes and exams, athletes need to get in shape for their incoming season and everyone in general wants a "beach bod." It's all in all the prime time for working out.

However, all of those big glorious plans we have for how often we're going to work out and how hot and in shape we're going to be by the end of summer...kind of go out the window as soon as we actually have to do the working out thing...

Here are some of the ways we feel when we try to workout throughout the summer.

1. It's day one of your workout and you are PUMPED to get started.

You are READY to go! This is going to be a great summer! You love working out! #fit

2. When you realize that working out means you actually have to get out of bed and possibly leave the house...

Um yeah, how about I just stay in bed and I'll leave the remote at the end of the bed so I have to do a sit-up every time I want to change the channel?

3. Actually making it to the gym and realizing how out of shape you really are

First you get out of breath just from walking the stairs up to the gym, and then you can't breathe after two minutes on the treadmill. Whoops.

4. Waking up the day after a workout and feeling more sore than you've ever felt in your life.

When you roll over the morning after a workout and realize that all of your muscles have been ripped in half and you can't move...

5. Trying to decide if the heat outside is making you sweat enough that it counts as going to the gym for the day

Sweating burns calories right? And working out makes you sweaty... So if the sun is already making me sweat then do I really neeeeeed to go to the gym?

6. Actually noticing that you're gaining some muscle!

You've made it to the gym a few times and now when you flex you are able to notice some definition! #results

7. When you wonder if eating counts as a workout...

Technically you do work up a sweat...and you have to walk all the way down the stairs in order to get anything so pretty much you've already worked out for the day.

8. Coming up with every excuse imaginable for why you can't go to the gym today

"But if I get up then my bed will be lonely..."

"I have work tomorrow so I really need to make sure I'm rested."

And whatever other excuses you can come up with.

9. Realizing that just having a body already means you have a "bikini body" so why are you even so stressed about working out to begin with?

You're hot no matter what and everyone can look good in a bikini so, really, you don't HAVE to work out if you don't want to. Girl keep on Feelin' Yourself! #flawless

10. Remembering that you're an athlete and you have preseason in two months...

all you can think is "Oh crap...I actually need to start doing this" and frantically get to the gym to do as much working out as you can to make up for lost time.

Everyone has their own reasons for why they "need" to workout. For some people it's health, others want to work on their bodies, some have to work out for their sport and the crazy others just genuinely enjoy it.

No matter what the reason is, pretty much everyone who has ever considered working out has felt some of these things.

10 Signs You Work In A Restaurant

There's always chaos in the restaurant business.

10 Signs You Work In A Restaurant
Brisanis

Working in the restaurant industry is possibly the most fundamentally challenging occupation I have ever experienced when it comes to hospitality and customer service. When you go to a five-star restaurant you expect the time of your life, a two hour getaway, a walk through another time period (rustic Italy, France, Spain, etc), or simply a honeymoon undergo. What you don't see are the behind the scenes scut work: carrying trays, polishing glassware and silverware, kitchen chaos, the list is endless. Now, I'm not saying being a host, server, or bartender is the worst thing in the whole wide world, there are definitely worse things. But the fact of the matter is that it isn't always sunshine and rainbows. In the two years that I have spent in restaurant and customer service, I have spoken my share of expletives, yelled at kitchen staff, and dealt with not-so-happy guests. It isn't easy to keep a bright and shiny smile on your face when all you want to do is choke every person who walks near you. Anyone who has spent even two weeks working in a restaurant understands the rigor and stress that comes with it. Restaurant culture is a tiny world in and of itself that operates on its own principles and creates its own society. It even has its own language. The sayings "runner", "corner", and "on a bus" wouldn't make sense to anyone otherwise. My mother and I both work in a restaurant and the best advice I can give someone going out to eat is to treat us like people. Yes...believe it or not we are people, people. Say "please" and "thank you", or stack your cleared plates before a busser gets to the table. Trust me, the gesture goes a lot farther than you may think.

So, if you work in a restaurant, you can relate with the following points. If not, check out how the brain of a restaurant service (or any customer service) worker actually works. See if you can identify any crazy weird habits your friends have a tendency to partake in.

One of the scariest things we will ever face in our life is going to college. Many of us move away to a new town, join new organizations, and make new friends. We are expected to study, have a social life, relationships, maybe work, and be healthy. It seems pretty easy to do, and in high school all we wanted to do was graduate and move on to this next chapter of our lives. If you are in high school, here are some things that you can learn from before you get to college. If you have already been through your freshman year of college, hopefully you can relate to the things I have learned in college.
