I bet you're laying in the same spot you have been in for a couple hours reading this.

1. “I really need to do something besides laying in the same position every day…”

The couch to the bed the Netflix binge isn’t as fun without impending stress from studying you should be doing.

2. “I think I gained weight “

A fully stocked fridge was one of the most beautiful sights as you stepped through the door, but you’re feeling a little more pudgy than normal.

3. “I miss my friends!”

Seeing everyone from High school carries equal amounts of nostalgia and relived teen anxiety, but no matter the love you have for your hometown besties your heart lies with your people in college.

4. “OKAY, MOM/ DAD!”

Plain and simple you’re used to freedom, being alone, and making your own rules. Reliving your parents’ “this is my house” power trip can get old.

5. “What day is it?”

On your travels back home you thought of all the fun adventures to go on from exploring your near by city to eating at your top five restaurants, but time flies faster than you think, especially if you don’t even know what day it is.

6. “ I need structure”

Every day in college is controlled by the constant motivation of completing projects, attending events, going to class, and catching a moment of fun with friends AND all of it is scheduled! It has to be; otherwise you’d harm your GPA, social life, or resume builders. Now without any real push pull to your day you feel like your floating in a pool of slush and cant and wont do anything.

At the end of it all enjoy your break and soak in all the lazy possible, because HERE COMES NEXT SEMESTER!

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

As an English Major in college, I have a lot of writing and especially creative writing pieces that I work on throughout the semester and sometimes, I'll find it hard to get the motivation to type a few pages and the thought process that goes behind it. Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
