There are so many great things about fall that I couldn’t even name them all (HAH RHYMED), but I will surely try by showing just how Parks and Recreation feels.

1. NO MORE SWEAT.

Being on a college campus with a billion other sweaty students doesn’t sound appealing to anyone (hopefully). Especially when you have to walk 3 miles to class with the sun beating down on your neck, creating a terribly funny tan line the next day. I hate sweat.

2. No more sweating = girls looking nicer.

This is a good thing for boys and girls, people. Boys—I promise we don’t always look like an oversized t-shirt with legs. In the fall, we look like SWEATERS with leggings. It’s better, I swear. Girls—we can wear makeup (if you want to of course) and not have to it sweat off! Hallelujah.

3. An excuse to drink hot chocolate alllll the time.

Not that I don’t drink it during summer nights, but now I can drink it ALL DAY and have nobody look at me weird.

4. You can wear fuzzy socks.

By far one of my favorite things about colder weather is wearing my fuzzy socks—from decently fuzzy to not even being able to wear shoes over them.

5. ABC Family (or Freeform, ugh) plays sooo many Halloween movies.

There will never be a free moment of mine that won’t be filled with Halloween movies.

6. Bonfires are much more common.

Bonfires that happened in the summer were fun, but nobody wanted to get near the fire because it was already so hot outside. Now everyone wants to cuddle up and smoke marshmallows together.

7. How did I not mention this earlier… HALLOWEEN.

Besides Christmas (in my opinion) Halloween is the best holiday of the year. Spooky stories, costume shopping, and trick-or-treating (do NOT tell me I’m too old) are the best things about it. From the scariest of costumes to every girl being Harley Quinn this year (just wait and see), Halloween is approaching people.

8. You have an excuse to stay indoors and Netflix.

Even though my excuse for the summer was it’s too hot outside, now you have an even better one. There’s nothing better than cuddling up with a blanket (or person) and watching your favorite show over and over.

9. THE TREES.

Yes, I know the trees are technically dying so that’s why they’re changing colors, but it's sooo pretty. When they fall to the ground, creating piles of color, it takes all of your self-control to not jump in them immediately.

10. Football games are a lot more bearable.

I think everyone can agree that watching football is a lot better when it’s chilly out. That’s true football season.

11. It’s cuddle weather!!!

Okay, yes, cuddle weather is upon us. But, if you’re single, hey more blankets and pillows for you. right?

12. It means we are THAT much closer to the end of the semester.

Getting out of the hot weather is a farewell to the beginning of the semester, to syllabus week, and the first exam. Now we’re more prepared for the rest of the semester and even more ready for Christmas break.

12. Dogs… wearing… clothes…

I mean, honestly, this should’ve been number one. Dogs wearing their little coats is my favorite thing in the world.

I welcome you, Fall, with open arms!

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.

December... it's full of finals, due dates, Mariah Carey, and the holidays. It's the worst time of the year, but the best because after finals, you get to not think about classes for a month and catch up on all the sleep you lost throughout the semester. But what's worse than finals week is the last week of classes, when all the due dates you've put off can no longer be put off anymore.
