Graduation. The event that we all look forward to when we enter our senior year, or even sooner. Many of us have probably attended one this weekend, to see our family, best friends, boyfriends, girlfriends, big or littles walk across that stage. So, here are some feelings I feel we can all relate to during the process.
Seeing them in their graduation robes for the first time:
STOP, YOU'RE GONNA MAKE ME CRY. I'M NOT READY.
Going to the venue:
The traffic. The parking. Enough said. *insert rolling eyes emoji here*
Going for the best seating once the doors open:
RUUUUUNNN! You want, no -- NEED, the best view when it comes to seeing your graduate walk across that stage. You also then rush to save as many seats as possible using whatever you can so that other friends and family that are coming have a good seat too.
Watching your soon-to-be-graduate proceed into the stadium:
In other words, it's the cue for you and all of the family to start taking an insane amount of videos and pictures of your almost-graduate. Along with some cheering to let them know that you're there.
Waiting (patiently) for the speeches to be done so that you can cheer your graduate on:
When they announce that they're going to give out the diplomas:
THE TIME HAS COME. It's what we have all been waiting for!
Waiting for the row they're sitting in to be able to get in line to go on stage:
So close, yet so far. They're almost there!! The anticipation!!
When they are about to walk up the stairs to the stage:
Getting more and more excited by the minute. You also stand up because you know you're going to make some people deaf with the screaming you're about to do.
When their name (finally) gets called:
"YEEAAAAAH! THAT'S MY BEST FRIEND/BIG/LITTLE/BOYFRIEND/GIRLFRIEND!! I KNOW THEM!!!" *cue loud obnoxious screaming to notify everyone that you know them*
When they're done and walk off stage:
You practically faint back into your seat because you just used up all your energy screaming for your graduate like a fangirl at a One Direction concert. #noshame
You then patiently wait as the rest of the people who are graduating walk across the stage before it is time for them to turn their tassels. Once all closing remarks have been made and they've processed out, you try to find your graduate as quickly as possible so you can give them the biggest hug, along with telling them how proud you are. You then try to stop yourself from tearing up, but it doesn't work, and you become the mess you told yourself you wouldn't become when this day came.
I want to dedicate this to all my friends and family that have graduated and are graduating this year! I'm so proud of all of you! I love you all! You are going to do great things, I know it!
