Are you in a slump? Not been feeling like your best self lately? No motivation, no inspiration?

Don't worry, because you are not alone! Here are eight simple ways to give yourself a little push so that you can get yourself on the path to success.

1. Shower

Don’t be a couch potato, sitting around in your pajamas all day, waiting for inspiration to fall from a tree. Take a nice, hot shower and wash away all of the laziness. You will feel much more capable just by being clean. And besides, let's not forget that shower thoughts are the best thoughts.

2. Travel

It doesn’t have to be on a grand scale -- plane tickets are not a luxury all of us can afford. Explore your backyard, or venture out to a new part of town. Just give yourself a nice change of setting. You never know where inspiration will strike.

3. Watch any Trump press conference or speech.

If that man doesn’t make your blood boil and make you want to do everything in your power to make a difference in your own way, then I don’t know what will. Think of every racial slur and of every sexual allegations. That ought to do the trick. Plus, if Trump can become president, then you can do anything you set your mind to.

4. Watch an episode of "Parks and Recreation."

Watching Leslie Knope get more done in a 20-minute episode than you’ve done all week is a surefire way to get yourself motivated and inspired. But remember, your end goal is not to be Leslie Knope; your goal is to be the best version of yourself. And also remember that you are a beautiful, tropical fish who is 100% capable of success. (Or a brilliant, powerful musk ox. Whichever you prefer.)

5. Listen to "Survivor" by Destiny's Child.

You want a song to remind you that you’re not gon’ give up? You need some of the most iconic women in American history to tell you that you're gonna keep on surviving? Well here ya go. Destiny's Child will not disappoint.

6. Imagine your future.

Where do you want to be in five years? What about in five days? Are you doing what you need to be so that tomorrow, you can look back on yesterday without any regrets? Or without any ragrets?

7. MOVE!!

Go on a walk or try out that Zumba class at your gym. Get the blood flowing through your body. You will feel much more active and your brain will be so ready to start working and thinking.

8. Find people who are working towards the same goal.

You are not in this alone! Surround yourself with people who share the same aspirations so that you have a strong support system and so that you can hold each other accountable.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.

December... it's full of finals, due dates, Mariah Carey, and the holidays. It's the worst time of the year, but the best because after finals, you get to not think about classes for a month and catch up on all the sleep you lost throughout the semester. But what's worse than finals week is the last week of classes, when all the due dates you've put off can no longer be put off anymore.

I know every college student has daily thoughts throughout their day. Whether you're walking on campus or attending class, we always have thoughts running a mile a minute through our heads. We may be wondering why we even showed up to class because we'd rather be sleeping, or when the professor announces that we have a test and you have an immediate panic attack.
